QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMA, an international contractor with diverse interests and operations spanning 4 continents and 11 countries since 1989, is looking for an administrator for its mining operations in Ghana.


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Geology, Mining, Industrial Engineering), Business Management, Economics or related fields,
  • 5+ years of experience in financial control, procurement and logistics, reporting experience in mining companies,
  • Good command of written and spoken in English,
  • Ability to use MS Office programs effectively,
  • Strong managerial, analytical, planning and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills,
  • Energetic, driven, and ambitious


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establishes effective accounting and bookkeeping systems and procedures and manages accounting, purchase and logistics services.
  • Establishes and implements internal controls, and administrative systems, policies and procedures to ensure that Summa’s day-to-day operational activities are efficient and effective, and are in-line with the plan and budget.
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing and logistics processing and receipting, payment of invoices, payroll and bills.
  • Manage and monitor all transactional procurement including tendering processes, evaluation, contracting, legal considerations, payment conditions, for all partner’s procurement done within Ghana
  • Ensures adequate cash flow for the departments requirements, and preparing requests for funds as needed.
  • Prepares and presents regular financial budgets and cash flow forecasts, and works with the Exploration Manager and Chief Geologist to actively monitor and understand budget variances.
  • Manage the day-to-day purchase and logistics operations to include planning, tracking, executing in coordination with Exploration and Mining Sites.
  • Prepare budgets and reports on expenditures.
  • Manages bank accounts and monitors reconciliations, transactions including wire transfers, and keeping track of signing authorities.
  • Manages liquidity, investments, and foreign exchange per established policies and procedures.
  • Ensures reporting obligations to Ghana relevant bodies are completed in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Oversees recruitment of Local staff
  • Maintains personnel files, health benefits and other insurances updated.
  • Applies Ghana’s relevant employment law to HR policies
  • Maintain basic administrative systems, including information resources, general filing, electronic filing, personnel records, contracts and leases, subscriptions, insurance, etc.


JOB SUMMARY

The Administrator is responsible for all aspects of the financial management and administration for Summa in Ghana. The Administrator is expected to provide sound advice and effective management of finance, accounting, procurement and logistics as well as the administrative functions. This position is a full-time, based in Accra-Ghana and reports to and works most closely with the Exploration Manager and Chief Geologist.
