QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Description:

The successful candidate will take part inAerothermal Design ofgas turbine engine components in Concept, Preliminary and Detailed phases and will collaborate with engineering disciplines.

The successful candidate will be hired in one of the following disciplines aerodynamics, thermal system or combustor design according to candidate’s academic or industrial experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Working on the aerothermal designs and analysis of gas turbine engine components,
  • Take part in the development of aerothermal analysis and design methodologies,
  • Prepare and present technical data for internal and external customers,
  • Working in coordination with other engineering disciplines.


Qualifications:

  • Education to level in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a closely related field to aerodynamics, turbomachinery, combustion, heat transfer or fluid mechanics,
  • Completion of courses relevant to thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer,
  • Strong working knowledge in at least one the following topics and general analysis tools related to these fields: heat transfer, transonic/supersonic flows, internal flows, reacting flows, combustion, aerodynamics or turbomachinery,
  • Familiarity with CFD methods, preferably experienced with commercial CFD software (ANSYS CFX/Fluent, Siemens Star-CCM+ or similar software.),
  • Ability to use CAD software (CATIA, NX, or similar software) for basic design purposes,
  • Knowledge of at least one of known programming languages (Fortran, C++, Python etc.),
  • Industrial/Academic experience in at least one of the following topics: heat transfer, transonic/supersonic flows, internal flows, aerodynamics or turbomachinery is a plus,
  • Advanced degree with thesis focused in thermo-fluids or combustion field is a plus,
  • Completion of undergraduate/graduate courses relevant to heat transfer, combustion or turbomachinery is a plus,
  • Familiarity with turbomachinery design tools (Axstream, Concepts NREC or similar) is a plus,
  • Familiarity with thermal design tools (Simcenter-3D, SC03, Ansys Thermal, etc.) is a plus,
  • Linux systems knowledge is a plus.
