QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
The primary role of the AV Design Engineer is to oversee the design and implementation of audio-visual (AV) technologies throughout projects and provide advanced support to technical team.
Job Description
- Responsible for developing the design and integration of all A/V projects. This includes the production of technical project designs, drawings, budget, and delivery of a final technical experience,
- Determine material quantities in the amounts needed to complete projects for bid,
- Develop and create systems documentation, including pre-sale systems drawings, systems installation drawings, and other systems documentation,
- Creates, reviews, maintains 3D models and 2D draftings, technical specifications, Bill of Materials (BOM),
- Determines, performs all necessary engineering calculations, validation tests and reporting,
- Understands the needs of customers through investigation in requirements and brings solution proposals and attends technical discussions with suppliers, directs discussions within the cost and quality targets,
- Develop relationships with third-party A/V consultants and integrator Ensure that AV systems are being installed, programmed, tested, and commissioned according to current industry and company standards,
- Plans and carries out work packages in area of responsibility as a "design team member" within local and international project teams and manage individual A/V project plans and schedules when required,
- Lead a team of technicians during the installation and maintenance of audio-visual products and components as specified by blueprints and to specifications
- Assist during commissioning of audio-visual systems
- Provide Quality Control and oversight for the installations and maintenance
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge of current market AV systems and associated wiring/cabling standards
- Advanced knowledge of commercial IPTV and CCTV systems, operations, and terminology
- Strong understanding of large-scale IT networks and general installation protocols
- Ability to read and understand architectural and construction type drawings
- Ability to produce technical diagrams using field-related software
- Ability to travel to job sites and work out of town for short duration
- Proficient in AutoCAD or equivalent design software
Qualifications
- Engineering background
- At least 5 year experience in similar position
- Strong technical background and analytical thinking skills in highly agile environment
- Advance English level
- Able to work within international project teams with very good communication skills
- Experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD) and MS Office
- Certifications in industry-relevant technologies such as Crestron, AMX, Biamp and Extron
- CTS or CTS-i certification will be preferable
