QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

QUALIFICATIONS

Arup is one of the world's top engineering and consultancy firms. We are looking for a passionate senior engineer or senior architect to join our office in Istanbul as BIM COORDINATOR, responsible for the management aspects of the BIM process across our projects.

  • Bachelor and/or Master degree in Engineering/Architecture from reputable universities,
  • Knowledge and expertise in ISO19650 standards
  • Expertise in Revit as demonstrated by sophisticated use of the software beyond just modeling 3D content,
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in multinational English-speaking environment,
  • Experience in 3D design and coordination of multiple disciplines,
  • Ability to read construction documents.,
  • Experience with Solibri and/or Navisworks,
  • Knowledge of CDE platforms,
  • Excellent command of English both written and verbal, able to write reports,
  • Ability and willingness to learn new programs as required by individual projects,
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines,
  • Ability to interface and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, effective communication skills,
  • No travel restrictions (national & international),
  • For male candidates’ military service must be completed.

It would be an advantage to have any of the following:

  • Experience with, AutoCAD Civil 3D,
  • Experience in programming with Grasshopper/Dynamo.
  • Familiarity with interoperability between different software.
  • Experience with 4D and 5D BIM processes and tools.
  • Autodesk Certified Qualification in Revit.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The role includes the management of the project's BIM strategy and protocols, development of information workflows, choice of appropriate tools, and management of coordination and review processes.

The corresponding tasks for the BIM Coordinator will be to:

· Set up project-wide, federated models

· Contribute to the projects' BIM Execution Plans (BEP), including

· defining the models making up the federated models, and their demarcation

· addressing model & software interfaces

· setting levels of clash detection

· setting project-wide modeling conventions

· defining workflows and timelines

· explaining the above to project team members

· Set up and manage a Common Data Environment (CDE) for the project teams

· Organise the model exchange between the disciplines

· Solve day-to-day issues with modeling conventions and model federation

· Monitor and report on model performance and auditing the model according to the model structure and content, LoDs, and modeling conventions set in the project BEP

· Prepare and chair Virtual Design Reviews (VDRs), including

· preparing clash detection and other model analysis reports

· preparing views for the reviews

· providing walk-throughs and a summary of the model analysis

· preparing VDR reports, following up on assigned actions

· Estimate required overall BIM resources on projects

Within the project, the BIM Coordinator will report to the Project Manager (and ultimately to the Project Director) and will work and coordinate with the project’s BIM Model Managers.

Within their team, the BIM Coordinators report to their discipline’s Lead BIM Modeller (and ultimately to their Discipline Leader).
