QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

MAIN MISSIONS

Based on guidance given by his manager (or Commodity Lead Buyer for production purchases), he is responsible for managing his supplier base.

Optimizes purchases within his area of responsibility, meets the QCD targets set in compliance with Group rules.

  • Is the main contact for the Plant General Manager in terms of purchasing,
  • Makes routine purchases for his portfolio (consultation, negotiation, business follow-up, etc.) to meet the targets set,
  • Is responsible for meeting the targets set by the manager of the related Action Plan,
  • May be required to oversee functional coordination of cross-cutting subjects (working group on a specific subject).
  • Provides reporting follow-up,
  • Consolidates the needs of internal customers and anticipates changes,
  • Analyses his market and suggests innovative solutions to his manager or the Commodity Lead Buyers concerned,
  • Conducts annual negotiations (other than those managed by the Purchasing Director or Commodity Lead Buyer),
  • Manages Quality, Cost, Delivery panel performance within his area of responsibility,
  • Submits and approves action plans as part of efforts to continuously improve the economic performance and quality of suppliers
  • Works in cooperation with the Commodity Lead Buyer to optimize supplier management and performance in compliance with Group rules and procedures,
  • Identifies the operational risks within his area of responsibility and follows a corresponding plan of action,

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree reinforced by 1 / 3 years’ experience minimum in Purchasing in the manufacturing sector.
Professional abilities
  • Ability to listen, persuasive, relational and interpersonal skills, analytical and concise, able to work independently.
  • Functional leadership ability,
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office,
  • Fluent English, knowledge of a second language is a plus.
Technical knowledge
  • Ability to use basic purchasing techniques (consultation, negotiation, business follow-up, etc.).
  • Knowledge of current regulations.
  • Depending on the scope, a comprehensive knowledge of the various specialities involved in the “supply control” process (project, quality, logistics, accounting) is desirable.
