QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Description:
Certification Engineer is expected to work with a multidisciplinary engineering team consisting of participants from certification, design engineers and also with aviation authority staff.
The Certification Engineer develops Certification Basis, Certification Plans, Compliance Checklists and Conformity Plans for submission to the aviation authority for turbofan development project.
Certification engineer is also responsible for facilitating and coordinating certification activities between TRMOTOR and the aviation authorities.
Responsibilities:
- Involvement in validation and verification process of certification requirements,
- Ability to have sound understanding of airworthiness/ certification processes,
- Preparing certification basis and plans for meeting aviation authority regulatory requirements,
- Review and track certification requirements and documents for TRMOTOR and aviation authority,
- Execution of Certification Panel Meetings with aviation authority,
- Understanding and tailoring engine certification requirements for the specific turbofan engine development project,
- Assigning compliance methods for each individual certification requirement and properly documenting it to the aviation authority,
- Determination of Certification Tests and Plans,
- Providing technical consultancy to aviation authority in turbofan engine development and/or modernization programs subject to civil/military certification,
- Reviewing and proposing changes to documentation used for compliance verification of design to airworthiness/certification requirements,
- Coordinating exchange of information with related personnel of aviation authority,
- Participation in related aircraft or engine level system design and development meetings and provide coordination,
- Preparing engineering documents, manuals, procedures etc. in scope of the work definition,
- Contributing to development of the tools, processes and procedures required for the job.
Qualifications:
- Graduated from mechanical engineering, aerospace/aircraft engineering or related departments of the engineering faculties,
- Proficient in both spoken and written English,
- Preferably having 4 + years of experience in aviation, defense or automotive industries,
- Experience in certification and system development process, preferably in aviation, aviation gas turbine engines or power plant systems for ground vehicles,
- Having knowledge in systems engineering approaches and methods is a plus,
- Proficiency or knowledge in at least one of the requirement management tools (DOORS),
- Preferably experience in planning, conducting and coordinating certification requirements,
- Knowledge on military and civil standards that is being used in the aviation industry. (EASA CS-E, JSSG 2007, DEF STAN 00-970 PART 11 and MIL-HDBK-516),
- Proficient skills in Microsoft products i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project,
- Interpersonal skills required to work with team members, customers and other stakeholders such as aircraft manufacturer and/or subcontractors.
