Health, Safety & Environmental Engineer

The Steelcord operations Turkey are part of our Advanced Wire Products. Bekaert wants to maintain and develop the Turkey plants as a world-class manufacturing unit, with customers in Turkey and other countries mainly in Europe.

YOUR ROLE:

• Monitoring and control of the waste management system, elimination of nonconformities,

• Managing Safety Documentation,

• Making environmental risk analyzes and ensuring continuity,

• Creation and continuous improvement of emergency response plans,

• Establishing coordination with relevant institutions and within the company,

• Conducting shopfloor audits

• Monitoring compliance with Safety Legal Requirements at the plant site and making necessary reports,

• Planning and executing Safety and Environmental trainings,

• Ensuring that the zero-accident policy is adopted by all employees,

• Accident/near miss analysis, research and reporting and follow-up,

• Conducting subcontractor audits,

YOUR PROFILE:

• Preferably graduated from Environmental Engineering department,

• Have "A and B" class Occupational Safety Expertise certificate given by the Ministry of Labor,

• Have environmental officer certificate,

• Good knowledge of environmental legislation and waste management,

• Able to implement the Occupational Health and Safety legislation,

• Able to make environmental risk assessment, control, measurement, and research,

• Give Safety and Environmental trainings to employees,

• Knowledge of ISO 14001 – ISO 45001 standards,

• PC literate

• Result oriented team player with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills

• Excellent command of both written and spoken English (you’re expected to get IELTS test score of at least 6.5)

• Male candidates must have completed their military service.

• You should reside in Izmit/ Kocaeli
