We are looking for experienced Corporate Sustainability and Environmental Manager for our company in İstanbul Office.
The Corporate Sustainability and Environmental Manager will report directly to the Board Member.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering or other relevant subject area, preferably a Master’s degree from an accredited university in relevant field
- Proven knowledge and expertise in sustainability, business development covering advisory and/or assurance services such as GRI sustainability reporting, Sustainability Indices, EHS, SDGs, value creation & impact assessment, circular economy etc.
- Proven ability to analyze, prioritize, and summarize business environmental, social and governance related risks and opportunities
- Experience working with investor relations teams and corporate boards especially with communication department
- Proven experience in environmental sustainability strategy development.
- Ability to bring insight and subject matter expertise on ESG and sustainability trends and practices related to construction industry, real estate, health, energy, and petrochemistry.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in construction industry (civil & industrial). Profound work experience in similar role with focus on sustainability
- Experienced in ESG, audits and good knowledge of regulatory requirements and international finance institution standards such as IFC Performance Standards, EBRD Performance Requirements and Equator Principles is also essential,
- Familiarity of United Nations Global Compact.
- Particular subject matter knowledge in GHG emissions calculation and CDP Reporting
- Significant level of knowledge pertaining to national and Environmental standards and best practices.
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
- Ability to manage teams to deliver engagements on time and to budget
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple issues, manage scope and contain risks
- Fluent English speaking skills and advance level written skills,
- No restriction to travel in and abroad,
- Experience in ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems. A good knowledge of ISO 14064 is beneficial,
- Very good analytical and conceptual skills as well as good communication skills and excellent planning skills,
- Resident / able to reside in İstanbul
- Advance level of MS Office knowledge (Excel, Power Point etc.), and
Responsibilities:
- Develop Rönesans Holding’s ongoing sustainability strategy, establish strategic impact priorities and action plans, and work closely with the Holding department and Group Company Management.
- Make recommendations, implement actions, review operations, and flag adjustments for the company’s programs related to sustainability.
- Developing Sustainability projects in Holding and Group Company projects and operations.
- Define and lead the execution of Rönesans Holding’s sustainability roadmap,
- Leading internal and external high-quality sustainability reporting, including annual sustainability reports, internal management reports, stakeholder reporting requirements, etc.
- Reporting in accordance with GRI standards and SDG's
- Develop and implement Environment procedures, programs and systems at Holding and Group Companies
- Manage KPI reporting focused on water, gas, electricity, emissions and landfill waste.
- Manage data and sustainability reporting for Group Companies
- Internal and external communication
- Work with communications teams, Investor Relations, and Social Impact & Sustainability to develop annual ESG reporting and website content.
- Developing collaborations with other Group Company and departments on all environment and sustainability related issues,
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives and share progress.
- Supporting internal and external communication via various channels: website, intranet, presentations, workshops, newsletters, social media, video, etc.
- Draft messaging and training materials to educate Rönesans Holding and its subsidiaries employees on our sustainability initiatives and how they can get involved.
- To follow up the environmental and social performance parameters according to the national and international standards, and requirements of the country agreement in which the company operates, to follow them, to report and the necessary actions in accordance with the results,
- To support and to establish the policies and procedures of operations and to ensure the implementation in line with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System the international standards, other legal requirements of the company.
- Apply knowledge and understanding of environmental legislation and both Turkish and International standards/regulations,
- Undertaking site visits; reviewing, monitoring environmental and social documentation,
