ROLE PURPOSE

This role is required for “Datawarehouse Reengineering Program” Team as part of Vodafone IT organization. Vodafone has completed 1st Phase of DWH Reengineering Program and will start the 2nd Phase soon. There will be dedicated agile teams for developing new business requirements in Phase 2. Data Engineers will be responsible of technical analysis, mapping, development and unit test of each requirement. There will be strict deadlines during the project to meet the delivery timeline.

Your place in the team

This position requires a highly motivated and experienced with data analysis and ETL development skills. Data Engineer is responsible for:

• Business requirements analysis (check with business stakeholder if related requirement is mature)
• Source systems data analysis
• Conduct Data Profiling activities
• Technical design of VIN/VID Data layers (get support from Data Architecture Team for logical and physical design)
• Source to target mapping and presentation layer design support
• ETL Development
• Defect Resolution
• Testing and Reconciliation (CI/CD Automation, AM/AD Testing Process)
• Consult Core IT systems for missing development needs to ensure requirement needs are met
Team
• Work collaboratively with other team members to deliver tasks
• Manage the engagement and prioritisation of offshore resources
• Develop, refine and rollout common processes and procedures for technical business analysis.
• Provide coaching and support to transfer technical & data knowledge within the BI team

• Seeking automation and simplification on already running processes and also new requirements
• Show demonstrable value to the business on BI practices, proposals and thought leadership.

We are looking for you if you have

Primary Skills: 4+ Years of total industry experience preferably in Telecom environment, Data Modelling Concepts, ETL Tools Knowledge (ODI is preferred), Oracle SQL/PL

Secondary Skills: Knowledge of DWH, Proactive working mode, problem solver, Strategic and analytics roles, Knowledge of BI tools such as Business Objects and Tableau

• Highly developed time management skills and ability to prioritise workload
• Knowledge on basics of DWH and exposure to BI projects
• Understanding of business applications, interfaces and integrated operational environments
• End to end experience of software development lifecycle
• Good understanding of Telco business
• Experienced in requirements analysis, specifically the challenge and validation of data capability and reporting requirements
• An understanding of user needs and a focus on the business outcome
• A logical approach to problem solving and an investigative and inquisitive mind
• Experience in collating and documenting requirements
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum is preferred)
