We are looking for an Energy Analytics Senior Specialist to take part in Şişecam Headquarters – Energy Analytics Department. The ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics (Master's degree in related areas would be an asset)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in energy markets (natural gas, power, coal, carbon emission)
- Deep understanding of global commodity markets and knowledge of Turkish and European power and gas markets.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to do research on different energy markets.
- Ability to synthesis, structure and explain in-depth analysis with clear and coherent hedging strategy proposals.
- Proactive and comfortable with a high sense of responsibility and strong attention to detail
- High learning agility to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well in a team as well as autonomously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (knowledge of programming languages would be an asset)
- No restrictions for domestic and international travels
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Analyzing market conditions and fundamentals to identify opportunities and develop hedging strategies or extract value from existing positions.
- Developing quantitative analysis to support hedging activity for Şişecam position in energy markets.
- Providing markets fundamental analysis on different products and locations, with focus on forward price curves.
- Collecting market related data from various sources and converting them into valuable insights.
- Developing and maintaining mid to long term Turkish energy market supply and demand forecasts model
- Identifying, originating physical or financial energy commodity transactions for hedging strategy.
- Following legislative and market structural changes in the energy markets impacting Şişecam, anticipate possible risks and monitoring their impact.
- Preparation of presentations and reports to communicate energy management position and business cases to senior management
