QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
- Leading and managing a group of Software and Simulation Engineers developing software simulation solutions,
- Acting as a solution provider by driving development of new features and functions of the applications in your group and function,
- Aligning program management plan and staffing the activities within your scope,
- Stimulating and facilitating the personal development of group members.
- Lead the group (typically 15-20 people); hires, coaches, and instructs the members: defines and assigns targets, evaluates priorities, solves problems, organizes a strong customer focus in the group to achieve the responsiveness and reliability we need to secure expansion of the business.
- Take care that interaction and stakeholder management with the diverse and relevant parties is in place.
- Take care that the group has a balanced focus on providing long and short term solutions.
- Contribute to the definition and implementation of departmental policy and departmental planning, including personnel, budgets, investments, resources, and methods etc.
- Ensure the availability and adoption of best-known methods, standards and tooling.
- Facilitate an effective learning feedback cycle and manage the relations of other competence owners.
- Plan and allocate of your group members to the various project activities, in cooperation with project managers and upper management.
- Manage the resources for the projects, products and R&D works in coordination with Program Management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- A deep understanding of software development in a team, and a proven track record of shipping software on time
- Be a strong leader, mentor, recruiter, and people manager
- Experience with large scale distributed systems
- Fluency in C++
- Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design
- Minimum of 8 years of experience managing a software development team, with hands-on architectural or distributed systems expertise
- Experience on the CMMI processes and its organizational applications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- Experience building complex, scalable, high-performance simulation software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices
- Experience with simulation related standards like HLA and DIS
- Experience with QT, code generation
- Experience with MatLab and Java
- Experience in defence industry
