GAMA Enerji A.Ş, one of the lead Turkish Energy company with an international operating asset, is looking for highly motivated candidates in Plants as Environmental Engineer.

  • Degree in Chemical and/or Environmental Engineering with experience in large thermal plants.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in thermal power plants and experience in the role of Chemical and/or Environmental Engineer relating to boiler, water treatment and wastewater systems.
  • In depth knowledge of all processes in thermal plants.
  • In depth knowledge of boilers, HRSGs, water and steam cycle.
  • In depth knowledge of water treatment technologies employed in thermal power plants.
  • Experience and knowledge on boiler inspections and corrosion mechanisms.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience on cycle chemistry regimes, phosphate treatment, caustic Treatment, all-volatile treatment etc.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in environmental management programs implemented in thermal power plants.
  • Experience of environmental permitting and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to set and implement KPI’s and provide detailed reports.
  • Advise on changes to working practices in line with legislation and any updates;
  • Ability to leading in-house training for managers and employees relating to Environmental and water chemistry requirement.
  • Ability to prepare and coordinate the environmental audits, and the audit process. Managing audit recommendations and ensure they are being implemented to agreed timescales.


Job Description

  • Responsibility for the Environmental monitoring and all legislative requirements for Environmental permit compliance and statutory testing.
  • Ensuring maintaining the emission monitoring equipment and perform a variety of professional level duties and responsibilities involved in environmental compliance planning, auditing, inspecting, testing and reporting at the ICAN CCGT Plant.
  • Taking role as integrated management system supervisor, support and manage ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 processes, plan internal audit and responsible for preparing mentioned reports, manage change management process, record and report change requests.
  • Responsible for all environmental compliance at the site.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of environmental compliance goals, objectives, policies, plans and procedures; interpret and apply laws, rules and regulations to ensure compliance; perform required notification, coordination, and reporting with regulatory agencies.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of environmental reporting systems; prepare reports necessary to meet all environmental reporting requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of environmental compliance plans, strategies, responses and position papers as requested by regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot the air emission data acquisition and handling system (DAHS), continuous emission monitoring system (CEMS), and programmable logic controller (PLC); download and backup emission data from the PC, DAHS and chart recorder systems.
  • Participate in the administrative maintenance of the plant chemistry manual and all technical references, prints, diagrams, and preventive/predictive maintenance records associated with water treatment equipment.
  • Carry out training to staff in environmental compliance and impacts and improvements.
  • Ensure spillage control measures are in place and all staff have been trained and understand this.
