The Financial Services Advisory (FSA) team gives consultancy services to clients for implementation of the changes to regulatory and financial reporting. The areas we work include IFRS 17 implementation, finance systems implementation, IFRS conversion support, implementation of new IFRS and other accounting standards, accounting control or process support. We work on large number of accounting and regulatory change and conversion engagements.

We currently have a career opportunity forConsultants in the Insurance Advisory team, who can support our growth plans and deliver solutions to support our clients achieve their desired business outcomes. We are interested in insurance financial accountants who are willing to deliver advisory projects.

Job Description

As a Consultant within our FSA team, you will specialize in Insurance sector and assist managers in leading engagement teams, provide insight and advice to support clients to make strategic and operational decisions about their business.

· Taking an active role mainly in IFRS 17 projects and supporting other consulting teams on insurance accounting.

· Researching, assessing, analyzing and documenting financial reporting and operational requirements for IFRS 17, as required by the client business model.

· Assisting to identify, develop, test and implement IFRS accounting, operational and reporting solutions to meet financial and regulatory reporting requirements, map financial reporting processes and modify control procedures, as required.

· Identifying and appropriately documenting engagement issues and their conclusions and consulting with appropriate firm members as necessary.

· Prioritizing multiple tasks appropriately by using effective time management skills.

· Demonstrating commitment to obtaining technical capabilities relevant to the service line.

Qualifications

· Experience in accounting/auditing in the Insurance industry,

· Understanding of accounting and reporting principles; and regulatory experience in IFRS 4.

· Knowledge of IFRS 17 will be an advantage.

· Experience in a GAAP Conversion project or experience of assessing the impact of regulations on finance and developing an implementation approach,

· Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university,

· 2+ years total experience,

· Understanding of insurance and associated terminology,

· Excellent command of English,

· Strong written and verbal communication skills,

· Strong team working skills,

· Good command of MS Office applications,

· Demonstrates commitment to continuous improvement in the delivery of quality services to clients, providing value add solutions to client’s problems,
