QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Description:

The successful candidates will be part of Whole Engine Integration Department as Fluid System Design Engineers who will be performing design lubrication and ventilation systems of gas turbine engines and she/he will work in collaboration with other engineering disciplines in terms of tools and methods development.

Responsibilities:

  • To design and analyze components and accessories oflubrication and ventilation systems for gas turbine engines, auxiliary power units, and advanced technology programs,
  • Developing and executing system models for steady-state and transient fluid flow and heat transfer analyses,
  • Develop layout of the lubrication system,
  • Lead trade studies and concept evaluation of potential new designs,
  • To capture and publish design practices and guidelines by using state-of-the-art software tools and methods,
  • To specify engine validation test plans, reviewing engine and test rig data, and summarizing results in test reports,
  • To define performance requirements for system components,
  • To prepare and present technical data for internal and external customers,
  • Mentor teammates in best practices of design and analysis.


Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field,
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in similar position or relevant experience in aerospace projects is preferred,
  • Fluent in English,
  • Russian language is a plus,
  • Knowledge of turbofan/turboshaft/turbojet or gas turbine engines,
  • Completion of courses relevant to thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer,
  • Design experience with high speed machinery in one of the following areas: Bearings, Air & oil seals or Lubrication systems,
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems of gas turbine engines or other high-speed machinery,
  • Hands-on experience with fluid system modeling and analysis softwares,
  • Ability to use CAD software (CATIA, NX, or similar software.) for basic design purposes,
  • Experience on flow network and thermal design by 1D/2D analysis tools,
  • Experience with the application of commercial CFD codes (ANSYS CFX, FLUENT or Star CCM+),
  • Familiarity with mechanical component rig testing is a plus,
  • Capability to operate in collaborative and cross-functional environment.
