Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (preferably related to Sustainability, Environmental or Maritime Studies),
- Excellent command of English (minimum certified C1 level)
- Experience in ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards (preferable).
- Experience in the Chemical Tanker Sector (preferable)
- Knowledge about TMSA, ISM and HSEQ systems (preferable)
- Team work, motivation to learn and strong interpersonal skills
Job Description
- Responsible for monitoring, implementation and management of the Company Safety Management System (SMS).
- Responsible for organizing and producing campaigns. Thereafter collecting and circulating the feedback to fleet vessels and reporting their tangible and intangible effects to Senior Management.
- Monitoring that the company's operations and quality standards are in accordance with the requirements of the Tanker Management Self Assessment (TMSA). The HSEQ Coordinator is responsible for yearly TMSA submissions and revisions. The TMSA is the foremost indicator for Major Oil Companies when assessing the company’s concern for Health, Safety, Environment and Quality standards.
- Responsible for representing the company at the International Informal Tanker Operators Safety Forum (ITOSF). At these meetings the HSEQ Coordinator is expected to benchmark with other companies and submit meeting notes to the DPA and the relevant departments informing of practices that can further improve the company’s role in becoming an Extraordinary Global Citizen.
- Responsible for checking and evaluating KPIs set by the company. Furthermore, enhancing the implementation of the company's objectives and aligning the goals of each department in order to reach the targets set out.
- Carrying out revisions (when necessary) and monitoring that the company operations are in line with international developments for standards, such as (and not limited to) being in accordance with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO’s) requirements.
- Supports the Designated Person Ashore (DPA) and HSEQ Manager, who is responsible for system development in the maritime industry. The Coordinator is expected to check the accuracy of all Safety Management System (SMS) Manuals, Procedures and Documents and carry out the necessary revisions.
- Supporting the DPA regarding the rectification of non-conformities that arise during Internal & External Audits. Furthermore these observations need to be analyzed, drawing conclusions of the lessons-learnt, which are then circulated across the fleet vessels and shore based personnel.
- Ensuring the participation of all HSEQ members in the organization of the Company Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Committee meetings.
- As a member of the HSEQ Team, the HSEQ Coordinator should attend all HSEQ and Management Review Meetings, record the minutes of these meetings and report them in an adequate manner to the Management.
- Responsible for coordinating communication between any shipowner’s representatives and intra company departments.
