The Role
Production Merchandiser
The role of Merchandiser is to ensure that the critical path is followed throughout production & shipment by working with production teams and suppliers, the warehouse.
The role covers product management from capacity planning before order placement until shipment is completed with all aspects of the production based on critical path and necessary reports by using reporting skills& IT systems& programs which involves liaising with many other stakeholders in the business including but not limited to Logistics, Warehouses and licensees.
You do/are,
· Be responsible for all production orders shipped out of the factories with respect to quality, delivery time and the required standards
· Produce detailed order status reports and review agreed dates, monitor progress with team members and report back to Head Office
· Place orders with vendors in line with the buying calendar negotiating the best dates with suppliers
· Monitor/manage supplier capacity on weekly/monthly/quarterly basis and flag any risks to the concerned parties and superiors to take corrective action on time
· Proactively manage order progress using the critical path, visit factories, processing centres, mills, trims suppliers and report back to superiors with statuses and action plans. Responsible to follow the action plan to actualize and finalise.
· Negotiate discounts, delay and air freight penalties where needed to ensure on time delivery.
· Update and follow up debit trackers with suppliers and ensure that raised debits are agreed with suppliers before it is actioned with finance teams.
· Manage supplier performance through effective monitoring, training and communication. Issue performance reports weekly/ monthly/ seasonally by communicating with the Senior Merchandiser.
· Liaise with logistics department internally and with the vendors to make sure all shipments are booked on time and shipments sent accordingly.
· Identify any production issues well in advance and flag any risks to the concerned parties and superiors to take corrective action on time ( shortages, early/late deliveries, any kind of production issues etc)
· Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to make sure the right goods are inspected and shipped on time
· Make sure on time sample checking including pre-production and shipment samples on planned critical dates ,
· Manage and lead technical teams for organizing all test reports and inspection reports on all production orders and getting them approved by related departments
· Keep in close contact with nominated trim and label sources to achieve on time deliveries, raise any issue to related parties to solve tit on time.
· Keep organised record of status / approvals/ reports to make sure any order can be traced back efficiently and any approval given backed up
· Active user of necessary systems used by SD production and logistics follow up.
· Follow up resource process for order placement by negotiating resource prices, MOQ, Lead Time.
· Responsible to negotiate and agree any kind of MOQ, upcharge issues and finalize with suppliers and Head Office at order placement stage
· Responsible to manage organic certificates for produced orders with accurate tracking and TC details. Record keeping, tracker updates are part of the responsibilities.
You are
· Fluent in Turkish and English language – written and spoken
· Experienced in the clothing industry with various product types including knit, jersey & woven
· Knowledgeable in printing techniques, appliqué and embroidery applications
· Knowledgeable in wash & finishing processes to manage critical path stages and set accurate critical deadlines for suppliers
· Experienced in critical path management
· Able to work on own as well as part of a team
· Good computer skills (excel / word/ power point, adobe reader)
· A good communicator and with strong reporting skills
· Pro-active
· A strong administrator, with excellent organisational skills
· Accurate with high attention to detail
