Senior Exploration Geologist

We are looking for a colleague for the position of “Senior Exploration Geologist” for our company located in Turkey

Job Description

Duties including but not limited to;

• Provide technical supervision of exploration activities in the field as well as the office
• Plan and execute drilling and regional exploration programs including geochemical exploration and mapping programs
• Carry out and oversee technical functions (mapping, drill hole logging, etc).
• Integrate and interpret geologic mapping, geophysical, geochemical and RC and core drilling data.
• Assist with geologic modeling updates, provide support to resource and mine geologists.
• Ensure exploration data is well documented for accuracy and quality in a timely and efficient manner.
• Ensuring best practice procedures and operations are in place and maintained through the exploration function
• Provide coaching and mentoring to junior staff
• Work closely with the HQ Geologists to explore and evaluate existing projects and new opportunities, and monitor geologic work at project locations
• Possess a positive attitude at all times and good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.
• Preparing annual exploration reports, progress reports and presentations
• Design project proposals and calculate project budgets and fees,
• Ensuring that all company safety standards, policies, and procedures are followed along with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Mining Act and Regulations

Qualifications

• A degree in Geology, MSc or PhD in Geology preferable
• The candidate must be +10 years hands on field experience with good communication, analytical, and time management skills in base metallic and chromite deposits.
• Experienced in geological mapping and geochemical sampling programs.
• Experienced in evaluating geological, geochemical and geophysical data and planning / managing drill program (Drilling, exploration budget management & logistic experience (invoice review, contracts, budgeting, cost tracking and optimization).
• Exhibit strong computer skills, including GIS and Office programs and experience in softwares such as LeapFrog, Surpac, Datamine, ArcGIS is preferable.
• Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team.
• Have a good geological background and detailed information about Tethyan Metallogenic Belt Belts.
• Conscientious in taking on new tasks to improve skills.
• Satisfactory safety, performance, and attendance is required.
• Be a positive, safety-minded contributor to the team.
• Good written and verbal skills in Turkish and English.
• Driver's license and 4WD experienced or certification.
