Job Description Summary
Lead sourcing management specialist will be responsible for all indirect sourcing activities required so the site can drive GE's desired outcomes. This includes contract lifecycle management, total cost evaluation, purchase order placement and understanding inflation and currencies for negotiations. You will drive days to pay, cash and coordinate internal deal reviews. This role will require both strategic thought and tactical follow-through to succeed in a buying focused space, you will use your expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives and effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Follow-up on POs execution and approvals. Manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution, on time delivery and ensure promise date accuracy. Solve problems and schedule changes. Update ERP
- Conduct due diligence and approve new vendors.
- Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a discipline and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy.
- Drive sourcing process compliance; provide input to and deployment support of procedures and guidelines as necessary.
- Create and enforce business policies to meet business targets and needs, including improving procurement processes.
- Enhance sourcing process and activities with engineering teams to identify the need for indirect sourcing and engineers special requirements to minimize total cost with zero defect.
- Work closely with engineering , finance, procurement team and quality team to ensure fulfillment and quality requirements are achieved
- Align with logistics and customs to ensure adequate regional capacities exist to minimize transportation costs and meet localization requirements.
- Serve as subject matter expert for colleagues with no procurement experience.
- Lead projects, explains information; developing skills. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive details/issues.
- Uses some judgment and has the ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated, day-to-day problems.
- Define and improve Sourcing strategies at business, project at site level. Maintain sourcing KPIs
- Manage local and global contracts, fulfilling purchasing commitments.
- •Negotiate lowest possible cost while maintaining the highest quality of goods and services. Review/approve claims and emphasis to use GE approved vendors. Actively participate in supplier performance reviews evaluation.
- Works together with business senior management in setting realistic and challenging operational goals and contribute to their accomplishment.
- Lead/maintain the meetings, reviews, communicates about project approach and presents outcomes of research done
Requirements/ Qualifications:
- This role requires advanced experience in the Sourcing & Buying-Procurement. Bachelor’s/Engineering degree from an accredited university (with at least 5 years of experience in a Sourcing role)
- Excellent interpersonal communications and negotiation skills with ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills; strong PC and database management skills.
- Strong understanding of logistics requirements (incoterms, freight)
- Strong communication (verbal, written & presentation); skilled in working collaboratively with remote personnel.
- Project management & process improvement skills.
- Ability to cope with multiple complex situations daily
- Strong Experience with Oracle ERP is preferred
- LEAN Mindset is preferred.
- Able to adapt to new requirement or changes
- Fluent English & Turkish is a must
- Work from Gebze site is a must
