From the Service Department at our Center of Excellence in İstanbul, we coordinate and repair navigation and communication equipment across the our office locations.
Job Description
The primary responsibility of a Marine Service Engineer is to install, service, and repair the electronic equipments on board of ships.
Testing, adjusting, and troubleshooting the components, PCBs, sub-assemblies, and antennas are main jobs to do.
Utilizing knowledge of electronic theory and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems.
You will need to intelligent use of complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to achieve results accurately.
Upon completing of the tasks, the technician/engineer will compose a detailed service report.
Some types of equipment serviced:
Sounders;
ECDIS;
HF and VHF Radios;
GPS;
Gyrocompasses;
Autopilots;
Radars, etc.
Position Requirements
Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application,
Driving license,
Being physically fit. Work environment often involves carrying tool-box and spare parts, climbing ladders and masts, and exposure to weather.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
Having no travel restriction,
Time flexibility and self-reliance, along with the ability to work independently and safely, communication effectively are must,
PLC or Microcontroller Programming knowledge is preferable,
Excellent problem-solving skills, even when under pressure,
Marine experience and shipboard knowledge, good mechanical ability, mathematical and computer aptitude,
Organization and time management skills,
Self-motivated, goal and customer oriented,
Ability to multitask and adapt to a changing environment.
Education and experience
Required: Bachelor’s or Associate Degree or 3 plus years of experience as a marine technician or marine electronic technician experience acquired in the Navy, Coast Guard or Marines or commercial shipping industry
