LOOKING FOR FULL-TIME MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER FOR OUR ISTANBUL FINANCE CENTER PROJECT IN ATASEHIR, ISTANBUL

Position Description: The Mechanical Engineer is to be employed by Project Management Company. Turner International is managing construction and contractors. The Mechanical Engineer will be at the project site.

Reports to Design Manager.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities of this position will be:

  • Acting as liaison with engineers, design consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, other job staff and owner’s representatives in resolving issues related to plans and specifications.
  • Overseeing and making decisions related to contract drawings and submittals of subcontractors.
  • Ensuring that all drawings and specifications are inline with the budget.
  • Preparing contract and project documents requirements list for all components of the systems. Managing submittals and shop drawings.
  • Assessing conformance to contract specifications to ensure QA/QC requirements are met. Resolving any conflicts in interpretation.
  • Managing changes on the work; preparing independent analysis, as required; obtaining and checking estimates for the changes from subcontractors; obtaining approval of the architect and owner; and resolving any conflicts.
  • Overseeing the project close-out process. Preparing final records for the project such as RFI’s, close-out records, warranties, as-builts, operation and maintenance manuals, attic stock, and spare parts, and evaluating information to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Ensuring that materials and equipments are delivered; installed on time per the project schedule; by utilizing tracking methods..
  • Scheduling and managing subcontractor trade coordination meetings, and submittal review meetings.
  • Managing project startup, commissioning, turnover process, punch list, closeout, securing all guarantees, warranties required for acceptance and handovering of all the systems.
  • Understanding Mechanical design parameters and systems to evaluate their appropriateness for the project.
  • Managing submittal process with design team.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to safety, ethics and compliance requirements at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years relevant work experience in Mechanical systems in design office.
  • Good knowledge of relevant procedures, codes and standards.
  • Able to work on Auto-CAD drawings.
  • Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • English, written and verbal communication


Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
