QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining/Geology Engineering,
  • At least 10+ years experience in mining in H&S (at least 2 years in U/G mining)
  • Fluent English in both spoken and written is must,
  • Good command of MS Office applications and other related applications,
  • Having the Occupational Safety Specialist Certificate (A Class) (Preferably having IOSH, NEBOSH, OSHA, Environmental Officer certificates),
  • Good knowledge on IFC PS&Equator Principles, Turkish and International EHS legislation, management systems (ISO 45001,14001,9001), EN, NFPA,
  • Experience of working on ESIA and environmental and social due diligence projects,
  • Knowledge in Sustainability is preferred,
  • Knowledge in Seveso and ADR,
  • Knowledge in training needs analysis, training design, implementation, measurement and evaluation processes.
  • Experience in setting up and managing a Mine Emergency Response Team.
  • Adaptable to flexible working, able to travel domestically and abroad and stay to work areas,
  • Able to drive actively, preferably have received off-road/safe driving techniques training and SRC 2&4 and psychotechnical certificates,
  • Effective communication and presentation skills,
  • For male candidates Military service must be completed.

Job Profile:

  • To plan, prepare and give necessary trainings to employees in accordance with the legislation, international standards and in-company procedure requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance Turkish regulations, EIA&ESIA commitments, IFC PS&EP requirements, ISO management systems.
  • Following, finalizing and renewal the operational permit processes, ensuring that the requirements are fulfilled,
  • Preparing all necessary internal and external reports and documentation for in-corparate and external authorities,
  • Planning, conducting and reporting the audits on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, following-up actions,
  • Accompanying to the EIA&ESIA monitoring programs, Performing the assessment of the all monitoring results in terms of related EHS Legislations and international standards,
  • Overseeing the H&S performance of the Project,
  • Making legal notice timely and follow-up,
  • Taking an active role to execute the sustainability activities,
  • Managing EHS Consulting companies&Joint Health and Safety Unit and monitoring their activities,
  • Preparation and follow-up of the annual activity plan and budget,
  • Managing relations with official institutions,
  • Supervising and follow-up of contractors, consultants and suppliers, monitoring and improving contractor management processes,
  • Follow-up of EHS measurements, installation of measurement systems and stations, recording and evaluation of data,
  • Ensuring that all internal and external documentation is prepared, recorded and updated in the company's archives and document management system,
  • Monthly KPI process performance monitoring and reporting,
  • Preparing, updating and monitoring the risk assessment,
  • To determine the OHS needs of the project.
  • To follow up and guide the site teams regarding H&S issues in the sites and to make preventive suggestions to the management regarding the risks.
  • To ensure Corrective and Preventative Actions and lessons learned are effectively communicated and constantly applied to sites.
  • Participate in/lead weekly and monthly meetings in H&S.
  • Establishing, training and managing the mine emergency response team, making it ready to respond to emergencies,
  • Creating necessary reports and keeping records by conducting accident incident investigations,
  • Making effective suggestions and activities in working conditions on road and traffic safety,
  • To support, plan, execute and follow up the necessary studies for public health and safety. To ensure that necessary actions are taken,
  • To lead the establishment of the workplace health unit, to provide the necessary coordination and management with the health professionals regarding the functioning of the health unit.
