QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Your Role

As an Import Operator in Sea Logistics, you are responsible to manage all day-to-day activities for the transportation of goods, from port of destination to final consignee. Your responsibility is to communicate with Sea freight carriers, co-loaders, truckers, customs brokers and other vendors as well as Customer Care teams. You will provide solutions in case of any discrepancies, holds or delays in the movements of goods and will communicate with the Customer Care locations.

Your Responsibilities

  • Responsible to ensure the smooth movement of shipments, and resolving any discrepancies enroute.
  • Arrange for transport/ shipping documentation and oversee the scheduling and dispatching of goods and monitoring movement of goods
  • Arrange delivery to final destination or handover to 3rd parties
  • Communicate and coordinate with Sea freight carriers, co-loaders, truckers, customs brokers and other service providers
  • Data entry and ensuring data quality
  • Work closely with the Customer Care Locations and notify in case of holds, delays and deviations
  • Resolve problems and provide ongoing support
  • Monitor holds or discrepancies in the movement of goods
  • Proactive response to service issues
  • Arrange for insurance coverage for cargo
  • Gathering of claim documents and facts if claims is involved
  • Follow policies, procedures and standards to ensure compliance with all regulations pertaining to Pharmaceutical and Dangerous Goods products.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Administrative / data entry experience required
  • 3 years experience in the Freight forwarding, logistics, transportation industry experience is preferred
  • Advanced computer skills, including full proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Operational and market expertise of sea freight product / environment as well as incoterms and payment terms
  • University Diploma in International Business, Transportation, Logistics is preferred
  • Very good communications and interpersonal skills
  • Very strong organizational and time management skills

  • Network and relationship building with internal and external customers
  • Working knowledge of Customer Service
