QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in preferably Geological/Geophysics Engineering departments of universities,

• At least 2 years' work experience,

• B/C Class OHS Expert License and preferably Environmental Officer certificate,

• Knowledge of the relevant national legislation on OHS and trained in management systems or training programs in accordance with international standards on these issues,

• Excellent command of English (both written and spoken),

• Proficient in using MS Office applications and preferably OHS software programs,

• Excellent problem solving and crisis management skills,

• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, coordination, communication skills,

• Adaptable to flexible working, able to travel and stay in domestic and international work areas,

• Actively driving (having B type licence), preferably having off-road / safe driving techniques training and SRC 2 & 4 and psychotechnics documents,


Job Description

• Performing all requirements in line with national and international legislation and standards regarding OHS and internal standards, improvement & development of existing system applications,

• Performing all duties within the scope of the OHS Law no.6331, the Regulation on the Duties, Authorities and Responsibilities of Occupational Safety Specialist and other relevant legislation (Guidance, Risk Assessment, Training-Information-Registration, Cooperation with Relevant Units etc.),

• Emergency Management, Subcontractor & Work Permit System Management etc. carrying out studies on the subject, developing applications, realizing projects,

• Performing all necessary applications and reports (daily/weekly/monthly) to be expected within the scope of OHS,

• Performing the projects that improve the OHS culture,

• Ensure the development and implementation of effective emergency response plans,

• Perform periodic inspections/ audits and keep records and follow up decisions/actions to be taken,

• Participate risk assessments studies, and update it when required,

• Support implementation of necessary applications within the scope of Integrated Management Systems,

• Ensures that periodical OHS measurement and monitoring activities, as per legislation,

• Monitors and controls subcontractor's OHS performance and conducts periodic OHS meetings on site,

• Trains and coaches site staff according to OHS instructions,

• Investigate accidents and incidents to identify their root causes and to determine how they might be prevented in the future.
