Balta home division is part of the Balta Group. Is a well-known Belgian producer of mechanically woven rugs and a solid and trustworthy business partner. The head offices are situated in Avelgem (60 minutes from Brussels Belgium, 30 minutes from Lille France). The multiple production sites are in Belgium and Turkey and Balta Home has two dispatch centers in the USA.

As Operations Controller of the Balta Home division (Rugs – revenue FY2021 €233m) , your scope covers the operations in Belgium, Turkey and the US.You are reporting to the Senior Ops Controller based in Belgium and you are working closely together with the senior ops controller , commercial controller and the product cost controller.
You work together with the MD of the division and with operations and supply chain management in all manufacturing locations.
Your permanent location will be in Uşak / Turkey plant
Profile
- University degree
- >3 years of experience in manufacturing controlling in an industrial environment
- Fluent communication in English
- Strong business acumen, capable of linking operational KPI’s and financial result
- Understand standard costing and variance analysis
- Good communication skills
- Familiar with inventory valuation techniques (FIFO, standard costing)
- Agile, able to work in a company in transformation
- Interested in details, while keeping a helicopter view
- Knowledge of SAP is an strong asset
- Mastering Excel & PowerPoint is a must
- Hands on, no nonsense approach
Main responsibilities
- In general, you provide with support to follow up the business performance and you give analytical support to management decisions
- In addition, you will work on improving processes in order to reduce the transaction work in controlling, in favor of more analytical and decision supporting work
These general responsibilities translate in following concrete tasks
- Analyze variances between actual results and budget, latest forecast and prior year
- Analyze variances between actual production costs and standard costs, discuss the outcome with operations and make sure actions are taken
- Simulate impact from FIFO inventory valuation to assess materiality of the deviation
- Analyze and project working capital and capital expenditure
- Prepare P&L’s of different business segments
- Follow up capital expenditure budget
- Follow up inventory count procedures
- Contribute to preparation of Budgets and forecasts
- Ad hoc analyses and simulations to support decision taking
