GENEL NİTELİKLER
We are looking for 'Environmental Specialist' which provides consultancy services on infrastructure projects and sustainable development.
Roles & Responsibilities:
His/her responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for environmental safeguards policies and/or environmental and social standards (ESSs) and work on environmental safeguards/ESSs and enhancement activities within and between projects, share information with project team members and Clients, staff/consultants responsible for projects’ environmental safeguards/ESSs management.
- Provide technical support for the projects for environmental risks and impacts, and vulnerabilities and identify risk management.
- Perform environmental risk management function under ESF/safeguards policies and by providing technical input and advice to sector projects and programs ensuring compliance of the operations with the standards.
- Contribute to the further development of ESS related guidance and technical support materials, such as guidelines, knowledge materials as applicable, including developing methodologies and training materials for task teams
- Monitor the environmental performance of the project in accordance with Environment and Social Commitment Plans (ESCP)
- Preparation of the pre-feasibility studies including technical and financial analysis of the projects
- Develop and deliver training sessions on environmental risk management for the Clients
- Liaise with customers throughout the project lifecycle
- Will be responsible for the local and global projects
Qualifications:
- University degree in Environmental Engineering
- Master's degree in environmental engineering is an asset.
- Having previous experience in developing or implementing environmental action plans or similar type of requirements by international financial institutions (IFIs) is a must.
- At least 10 years relevant professional experience
- Min 5 years of experience in environmental assessment, due diligence, pollution prevention or natural resource management in the local context and in cooperation with the international donors/agencies
- Experience in the preparation of pre-feasibility studies including technical and economic analysis of the projects in the related fields
- Have a good knowledge and experience of requirements of Turkish legislation concerning environmental issues.
- Have a good knowledge of requirements for environmental and social safeguards and related technical documentation of IFIs, preferably the World Bank ESF.
- Previous experience in consultancy is an asset.
- Previous institutional capacity building activities in the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) field is an asset.
- Practical knowledge and experience of working with IFIs in social as well as health and safety requirements in addition to environmental requirements, and experience of assistance in their successful implementation, reporting and monitoring is an asset.
- Site/field experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of English language.
