QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Description:
The Performance Engineer is an individual contributor role, responsible for executing thermodynamic trade studies and modeling of gas turbine cycles of advanced civil and military engines that incorporate TRMotor’s latest advancements in engine technology for next generation applications.
Responsibilities:
- Ownership of the thermodynamic cycle (design, off-design and transient) development work, models, analysis, and trade studies for engine development programs,
- Optimization of thermodynamic cycle,
- Developing and maintaining toolsets in NPSS environment,
- Ownership of starting and sub-idle thermodynamic cycle development work, models, analysis, and trade studies for engine development programs,
- Modeling of engine dynamic system and implementation of control mechanism,
- Developing innovative solutions for future applications,
- Ownership of engine operability related to performance,
- Evaluation of functional gas turbine engine performance,
- Engine performance validation and verification (including engine test support & analysis),
- Supporting design, system, test and control engineering activities related to engine performance,
- Providing support to TRMotor partners and customers,
- Mentor teammates in best practices of design and analysis.
Qualifications:
- Mechanical or aerospace engineer (MSc, PhD preferred),
- More than 5 years of experience in gas turbine performance engineering,
- Expert knowledge of thermodynamics and operating behavior of gas turbines,
- Expert knowledge in a thermodynamic cycle analysis tools (NPSS (preferred), GasTurb),
- Knowledge of at least one of programing languages (Python or C++),
- Structured and goal oriented approach,
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communicational (both verbal and written) skill.
