QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
- Organize, implement and maintain scheduling management system supporting identified projects and their plans
- Working closely with others in linking critical activities across multiple projects
- Assist to set up tasks and sub tasks to ensure satisfactory realization of project contract requirements as scheduled
- Prepare, implement, and monitor scopes of work using Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for control and integrity
- Maintain project risk register to ensure that risks are effectively managed to minimize their impact on schedule, scope, and budget of project
- Prepare Cost Report such us SPI, CPI and Earned Value
- Enable early identification of potential progress risks and good control of risk mitigation
- Perform coordination of cross-functional departments to identify project issues, monitor action items, and work with the project manager to ensure resolution
- Co-ordinate project schedules, tasks, meeting updates, and efficient distribution of reports
- Log project time-lines and maintain database of tasks and its status.
- Log all new information into database and provide scheduled reports for contract coordination and reporting purposes
- Interact with customer and project staff to schedule work and coordinate assignments
- Interact with project team and task managers to define scope of work to develop and update detailed schedules, cost information and identification of variances from original plan
- Evaluate project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas
- Analyze critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to schedule and recommend work-around
- Prepare three weeks ahead roll schedules
- Develop and update weekly short interval schedule working with superintendents and field engineers
- Suggest management of risks affecting project profit, costs, schedules and client relations
- Support project management team to maintain timely and effective change management processes, procedures and systems
- Assist project team to develop and maintain periodic status reports to keep management informed on project progress
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress and cost reports,
- Conduct analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules
- Represent company and/or project in meetings with owner, A/E representatives and other contractors as required
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 3 year related-work experience in the construction industry, or as a project scheduler
- Strong communication skills – written and verbal
- Good analytical and planning skills
- Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 software as a 'hands-on' user required
- Must have good attention to details
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Good working ethics and ability to treat documents with confidentiality
- Ability to work effectively within a team setting and also to provide leadership when required to do so.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are important
- Experience with Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) project execution models preferred
