QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

How do we describe the perfect match?

 

• Bachelor degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering or Computer Engineering (Master or PhD preferred.),
• Minimum 10 years of Experience in research, design and testing of inverter based power electronics solutions e.g. motor drives / inverters / SMPS / power electronics products,
• Excellent verbal and written skills in English (German is a plus),
• Having experienced in analog and digital signal condition circuit design,
• Being Skilled in the use of complex analytical tools such as circuit/system modeling and mathematical analysis programs such as PSpice, PSIM, MATLAB, and Simulink,
• Having Experience in the test and validation process for electronic and software-based products,
• Being familiarity with industrial and automotive standard are preferable,
• Being familiarity with variable frequency drive control solutions such as V/F, DTC, & FOC,
• Knowing physical principles, laws, their interrelationships, and their applications as related to electrical/electronic operation and processes,
• Having knowledge of the design of high-performance inductors and transformers using high-frequency magnetic materials,
• Having knowledge and practical experience in the design and development of motor drives / inverters / SMPS / power electronics products,
• Having familiarity to design products for compliance with worldwide EMC/EMI standards,
• General knowledge of FMEA, requirements management, project management, problem solving methodologies and tools,
• Having knowledge of ISO26262 standards would be asset,
• No restriction for traveling,

What awaits you in this role?

 

 

We are looking for a passionate Senior Specialist – R&D (Power Electronic HW Design Motor Drive) who will join our team at WAT Motor -Power Management Solutions-Mobility Tribe (R&D)

 

• Being responsible for research and development of embedded power electronics inverter circuits for multiphase brushless electric motor drive inverter systems from concept ideation through product launch. Specific activities will include design, test, and validation of power electronic-based products.
• Improving and maintaining hardware for field-oriented motor control applications on electrical vehicles and Industrial products globally.
• Working actively with motor control sw experts and system specialist to drive appropriate tradeoffs to deliver subsystem level attribute targets.
• Performing computer-based component, circuit, and system simulation to prove out design performance and compliance with product specifications
• Developing product requirement specifications and validation plans
• Contributing to development of control algorithms and participate in the development of embedded software and control hardware
• Supporting transitioning newly developed products into the production phase
• Providing technical support for existing products and/or product improvement projects
• Defining critical-to-quality features of components and products
• Performing risk and tolerance analysis
• Reviewing technical and marketing literature associated with products developed
• Participating actively in a cross-functional product development environment
• Participating within Agile team through development tollgate process
• Preparing technology roadmaps for motor drivers
• Scouting for new technologies about power electronics circuits, components
• Creating design guidelines, modules/libraries and facilitate reuse of knowledge globally.
• Collaborating across functional and geographic boundaries to leverage global knowledge and deliver winning solutions.
• Translating technical/sub-system attribute targets into module/components targets.
