Procurement and Logistics Specialist
Job Description
*Responsible for intercompany procurement of approved purchase order requisitions (Material and Service Requisitions) according to GEA procurement procedure.
*Handling all intercompany procurement activities following the standards and procedures over SAP (ERP system) and expediting all procurement transaction from Purchase order to delivery.
*Following up change orders, receiving order confirmations and giving feedback to relevant parties.
*Coordinating international transport with the approved transport companies according to confirmed delivery dates and ensuring the arrival of the orders to the factory properly.
*Processing transportation request by analyzing type of goods (physical, chemical, commercial, food, textile, dangerous goods, etc.), the delivery date, size/quantity, type of transport, route.
*Evaluating the logistics operation options considering quality, risk, security, deadline, market competition and profit plan criteria.
*Deciding on consolidated and/or partial transportation option based on the type of the material, material weight and size.
*Following up end to end transportation and ensure that it is in line with the planning, taking necessary actions in case of issues.
*Controlling import & export invoices and shipping documents in order to comply with the import & export transactions.
*Managing the process with the customs broker.
*Controlling transportation and custom service offers and finding alternative service providers if necessary.
*Keeping abreast of innovative logistics practices and looking for the possible applications.
*Following up the updates in customs clearance procedures and informing related departments.
*Controlling the declarations coming from the customs agent and hand them over to Finance Department.
*Collecting transportation and customs offers requested by sales department during offer preparation phase.
*Reporting all procurement and logistics activities periodically.
*Achieving the yearly cost saving targets, on time delivery targets and quality targets.
*Monitoring the performance of suppliers.
Qualifications
*Bachelor’s degree in logistics management, International trade and financing, business administration or equivalent educational level
*At least 3 yearsof logistics experience with preferably import background
*Very good analytical capabilities, problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically
*Knowledge of customs legislation and customs procedures (import and export)
*Knowledge of logistics processes
*Very good organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills, ability to handle the pressure
*Excellent command of written and verbal English
*Good knowledge of MS Office Applications
*SAP knowledge is preferred
*Strong communication and presentation skills for supplier and internal organization
*Eager to learn, flexible, open-minded and team-work oriented
