QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

The Product Manager, based in our Bodrum Headquarters, has primary responsibility for the design, preparation, and implementation of all tour elements and components that are involved in the creation and operation of each tour program. This position includes negotiating, costing, and pricing, managing the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, and working with internal and external partners to develop and deliver creative, innovative products.


  • Goals & Responsibilities


  • Successfully contribute to the research, design, development, maintenance, enhancement, organization, communication, and budgeting/costing of changes to current product and new product opportunities for assigned tours/region. This includes the incorporation of the enhancement process in all itinerary revisions and accordingly reporting changes for the broader audience.
  • Prepare initial itinerary, research special tour requests such as wheelchair access, dietary restrictions, special occasions, and update when necessary.
  • Develop any optional tours and optional extensions date sheets, budgets, and itineraries.
  • Negotiate contract rates and terms: DMC’s, Airlines, tour operators, and special offers. This includes completing Letters of Agreements, preparing and sending reconfirmation of services to local DMC and suppliers, securing insurance certificates, requesting photos, and completing ownership information forms.
  • Oversee and facilitate the general maintenance of each assigned tour/region while remaining in compliance with health and safety, and other relevant regulations including frequent correspondence and follow-up with DMC's, suppliers, and Travel Directors.
  • Develop and maintain superior relations with Tourist Boards within assigned regions to negotiate available marketing support funds and collateral.
  • Responsible for pre/post inventory management, review, and release flight schedules.
  • Manage the creation, maintenance, and execution of budgets for each of the assigned tours. This includes creating and regularly updating tour budgets with accurate costs. Monitor budget variances regularly and address tour cost variances so that they may be updated in the Annual Travel Forecast. This also includes negotiation and finalizing rates, terms & conditions with suppliers.
  • Develop vendor relationships through ongoing communication, site visits, and Product.
  • Confirm all product components, departure dates, and supplier/vendor arrangements within the established timeframe and post to the Mavi air Reservation System.
  • Complete internal Program Manual for all itineraries.
  • Ensure DMCs, suppliers/vendors understand and fulfill all necessary product requirements and arrangements per Mavi Air Travel product standards.
  • Control and Manage Mavi Air Travel product/quality standards and requirements.
  • Provide training for sales and reservations staff on tour products and destinations.
  • Proof all product and marketing-related information to ensure products are accurately and appropriately positioned. Includes proofing program proposals, brochure/catalog copy, pre-trip passenger information, including photos.
  • Review website program details and photos for assigned programs.
  • Review and manage Travel Director Trip reports, identify issues and develop action plans to address
  • Travel as necessary to scout new destinations, inspect product inclusions, meet with suppliers/vendors, etc, to ensure product quality and delivery standards

  • Strong knowledge of Turkey's tourism sector.
  • Must be flexible and responsive to changing priorities while working under pressure to meet immediate deadlines.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism from Turkey is a must.
  • 3+ years of management experience in local travel industry; experience with product management, contracting and pricing required.
  • Proven experience in product development, tour construction, operations, costing.
  • Advanced analytical skills with demonstrated ability to work through the development of complex business solutions.
  • Collaborative nature with the ability to interact with a variety of staff from all levels, including the executive team
  • Must be Turkish Citizen


Pricing & Business Performance Management

  • Manage tour pricing and set costs, by analyzing historic performance, market influences and budget requirements; define assumptions and propose selling prices
  • Collaborate with Air department to set future air pricing, and identify the best commercial and tactical marketing opportunities for the supply of air
  • Closely monitor sales against budget and pace by using available data sources and reports
  • Manage planned promotions, discounts, and tactical activities, by working closely with the Marketing department to drive sales with a focus on achieving budgeted flight load factors
  • Manage capacity and inventory
  • Continuously develop recommendations and implement initiatives that improve product P&L
