Job Description
· Use Lean Manufacturing concepts to constantly drive out waste within the value streams and improve overall product quality manufacturing capability and process control.
· Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting experiments.
· Apply knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
· Soliciting observations and ideas from operators.
· Work closely with process engineers, process technicians, and production teams to develop ways to drive out wastes within manufacturing.
· Educate others and promote Lean concepts.
· Work with various functions throughout the corporation to ensure consistency with lean deployment.
· Provide leadership and participate in kaizen activities.
· Generate lean communications highlighting progress and success stories.
· Develop and provide training on lean tools. Have a willingness to learn and teach Training Within Industries (TWI) methodologies.
· Support implementation of division and factory strategic initiatives as associated with Lean.
· Recommend process improvement projects to streamline product flow and champion implementation of lean manufacturing concepts within the factory.
· Use A3 thinking to solve problems and set project parameters.
· Assist in the development of manufacturing processes, such as standard work, cell layout, material presentation, control plans, etc.
· Participate in internal and external benchmarking and keep abreast of emerging technology through professional societies, periodicals, and trade shows.
· Work effectively as a team member work with little supervision and communicate effectively across the organization.
· Be willing to work additional hours as necessary to complete assigned tasks. Consistently complete quality work in a timely manner.
· Perform other duties as assigned to meet internal and external customer expectations.
