QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
Omya is a leading global producer of industrial minerals – mainly fillers and pigments derived from calcium carbonate and dolomite – and a worldwide distributor of specialty chemicals. We seek for a Production and Process Engineer who will be based in our Kemalpaşa, İzmir Plant.
The ideal candidate is expected to have the following qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or mining engineering
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a production based organization as Production or Process Engineer
- Strong interpersonal & communication skills
- SAP knowledge
- Good team member
- Analytical thinking, result and quality oriented approach,
- Fluency in English both written & verbal
- Planning, supervising and controlling of production - process operations in the plant to ensure continuity of production without any interruptions and also considering health & safety, quality and financial issues.
- Supervising workers, production technicians and all contractors on site collaboration with maintenance team
- Preferably automation experience (SCADA)
- Good reporting and planning skills
Basic responsibilities:
Production
- Responsibility in the production area, planning, controlling and monitoring
- Ensuring product reliability by understanding the technical needs for the reinforcement material of customers
- Tracing performance on production level and explore opportunities with necessary analysis for further improvement projects
- Following-up key process performance indicators and managing process performance
- Maintaining lean manufacturing activities like 5S
- Leading teams for continuous improvement by acting in close cooperation both foreman and blue collar employees for operations
- Check the contractors to ensure safe at work sites
- Taking actions and making root cause analysis for the breakdowns and repeating defects
- Collaborating work with maintenance team for managing preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities in production lines to provide continuous and high performance production
Project
- Managing projects according to the contractual and technical guidelines.
- Planning and executing the projects within defined time, quality and budget constraints
- Follow commissioning and start-up stages
- Develop continuous improvement projects to eliminate losses and to increase machine efficiencies
Planning
- Production lead time planning with supply chain team
- Planning of auxiliary materials for needed production
