For our subsurface team in Ankara, we are seeking an experienced geologist-geomodeller.

Job Requirements;

  • BSc in Geology or Earth Science related degree (essential),
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in building complex static model for petroleum studies (Petrel software mandatory) in both clastic and carbonate environments,
  • Skillful in building and updating geomodels. A track record of geomodel ownership must be demonstrable upon request,
  • Basic knowledge in seismic interpretation, seismic characterization and petrophysics; knowledge in sedimentology and reservoir engineering is appreciated,
  • An established track record in performing integrated studies,
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral (essential),
  • A confident and assertive personality with the ability to provide effective technical leadership,
  • Experience in operational geology and drilling follow-up,

Responsibilities;

  • Prepare and execute subsurface planning and studies related to field development (mainly but not limited to infill drilling targets) and exploration projects.
  • Prepare geological cross sections, structural/facies maps, and other geological representations (including 3-D structural models).
  • Integrate available geophysical data such as attribute maps, frequency decomposition extractions, iso-proportional slicing, among others, for the geological evaluation of infill-wells. Generate of property maps to better understand the reservoir heterogeneity and support the generation of Iso-properties maps.
  • Design and conduct 3D reservoir geological modeling work by conducting a systematic and an integrated reservoir study using sedimentology, facies, seismic information and petrophysical data in order to understand reservoir compartmentalization, distribution, reservoir heterogeneities, properties, quality and architecture to provide accurate resource assessments and input to reservoir simulation. Propose new well targets and contribute to the well planning.
  • Assess, plan, design and supervise geological data acquisition such as coring, log by identifying value of information and existing geological uncertainty in order to better understand the field and reservoir and reduce and managing geological uncertainties for optimum field evaluation, development plan and reservoir management plan.
  • Analyze and recommend for solutions on any issues raised during drilling operations for management decisions by collaborating geological information in order to analyze and reduce uncertainties for optimum site management.
