Job Description
This role will report to the Sales Operations Manager, with responsibility for the efficient and economical movement of goods (e.g., materials, products, equipment) in accordance with company policies and in compliance with relevant local, country, and international customs laws and for the delivery process in ERP system. With responsibility for all aspects of Import/Export documentation defined by theTurkish Customs and regulations, maintaining knowledge of and advising on legislative changes that impact current or potential future business procedures whilst supporting good governance, compliance & effective administration of the processes.
Key Tasks:
- Coordinating the movement of products/equipment/materials in and/or out of the country within the relevant customs regulations for Turkey
- Preparation of customs and excise documentation
- Accurate and timely completion of necessary documentation and online forms for the efficient, cost effective and lawful execution of all import/export activities accurately logging with Turkish customs
- Accurate logging and documentation of the movement of engineers’ service equipment
- Collaborate with Suppliers, Forwarders and Agents to acquire up to date shipment information
- Primary contact for Import/ Export queries ensuring their timely response, working closely with the European Export Administration team
- Primary contact for Import/ Export queries with customs broker
- Pre-control of shipping documents (AWB, ATR & Invoice) together with customs broker and making necessary actions when needed
- Follow up of import of license requiring items together with our external supervisor and supply all required documents from Berlin (eg. for CE labelled items Declaration of Conformity & Test Reports) to import all items in accordance with valid regulations in Turkey
- Get end user approvals from related departments for projects in which end users are abroad
- Check the possibility to assign EU origins to certain bundle of goods with Trade Compliance Department for projects, where EU origin goods are required
- Prepare all export documentation and follow export projects
- Maintain and share with colleagues as appropriate, knowledge of all relevant import/export law and procedures; tariffs and duties; licenses and restrictions.
- Place orders to order management department in Germany
- Report on agreed Key Performance Indicators
- Back up order processing responsible when needed
- Back up order entry responsible when needed
- Other duties as the need arises
Qualifications/Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Import/Export role
- A degree from the related discipline or similar work experience
- Must be familiar with the legal requirements regarding importing and exporting shipments
- Understanding of the role of freight forwarders
- Fluency in English is mandatory
- IT competency with good excel and presentation skills
- ERP system (Logo, Tiger) knowledge, preferable
