QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

AVL is the world’s largest independent company with more than 11.000 employees worldwide working on the development of vehicle powertrains, controls, software, autonomous driving, data intelligence, instrumentation, and test systems. We are looking for highly qualified and talented individuals to join our AVL Research and Engineering Turkey organization in Istanbul.

Qualifications:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering / Electronics / Mechatronics, and preferably MSc and/or PhD qualifications
Minimum 1 year of experience in software development
Fluent speaking and excellent writing skills in English
Willingness to travel abroad

Good understanding of the following topics:

Object Oriented Programming (any of the following: C#, Java, Python, C++)
Web application development (e.g., JavaScript, AngularJS)
Fundamentals of Software Engineering (e.g., Algorithms, Data Structures, Database Technologies like MongoDB, MS SQL)
Agile/SCRUM software development process
Source code management, DevOps

Job Description:

Software Engineers develop advanced components and systems to handle the upcoming challenges of digitalization and autonomy in the automotive industry. They become a member of a team working on multi-national projects and gain expertise in cutting edge technologies. They focus on developing enterprise desktop and web-based engineering software and tools and get involved in R&D activities which address the challenges of shaping future cars.

Responsibilities:

Requirements analysis
Software design and development
Refactoring and maintenance
Test and documentation
Investigation of new technologies
Involvement in R&D activities, contribution to project proposals and supporting development
