QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

What you will do

The position of Technical Support Engineer for Fire Detection and Alarm Systems reports to the Technical Support Regional Supervisor in the UK. You will be based in JCI Istanbul office and support sales growth initiatives in the Turkish and Caspian region by providing technical support and training services for the complete Johnson Control Global Products Fire Detection Systems portfolio including PAVA systems (Simplex, Zettler, Fireclass) including various types of systems such as addressable, conventional fire detection and alarm systems with associated products including relevant accessories.

You will be in direct contact with system partners, commissioning engineers and end users. As a member of the technical support and sales engineering team, you will collaborate closely with other departments including sales, customer service, inside sales, marketing, training, and R&D.


How you will do it

As Technical Support Engineer, you will provide product support to customers and sales teams. You will support the full product range from JCI Global Fire Detection Products, using company produced software tools to provide solution on site or to assist customer requirement.

You will support customer sales or design teams as well as Johnson Controls regional sales team.

You will communicate with consultants, designers, project managers, and end users. You will not only provide application services and technical support of fire detection ad and PAVA system solutions, but also advice and support projects by applying solutions according to international codes & standards (such as EN, BS, NFPA, UL).


What we look for

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in electrical/electronic engineering or relevant experience in the fire detection industry
  • Minimum 2 years working experience in fire detection industry
  • Excellent working knowledge of fire and voice alarm design installation standards including EN54-14/BS5339/ NFPA 72
  • Good verbal and written command of the English language
  • Problem-solver, with an ability to work under own direction with personal responsibility
  • General awareness of currents industry trends
  • Understanding of and the application of EN and UL standards in regard to fire detection products
  • General awareness of the relevant building standards and code of practice relevant to the region
  • Solid business communication skills, with an ability to report movements and meeting notes
  • Training skills with ability to create own presentation and present those prepare by others, relevant to the subject matter as required
  • Ability to identify need for and develop, processes and supporting materials
  • Well-versed in MS Office, Salesforce, in company own or 3rd party diagnostics tools
  • Willingness to travel
