QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
As the Senior Database Administrator you will be responsible for ensuring that Database Services are maintained across all technologies and platforms. You will be responsible for leading the database operations optimizing performance issues related with Databases specifically Oracle Database. You will work closely with the Development Team through DBA reviews, decision making processes, and technical consultation. This position will also manage the vendors who are maintaining Aegon Turkey database systems.
Job Description
· Manage database configuration including installing and upgrading software and maintaining relevant documentation.
· Contribute to the setting of standards for database objects and ensure conformance to these standards.
· Monitor database activity and resource usage.
· Optimize database performance and plan for forecast resource needs
· Develop and maintain specialist knowledge of database concepts, object and data modelling techniques and design principles and a detailed knowledge of database architectures, software and facilities.
· Assessing risk and impact of database changes
· Ensuring the security of our data through access management, backup and recovery and disaster recovery planning
· Remaining current with new features in Oracle Database and complementary technologies

Qualifications
· At least 7 years' experience maintaining and guiding a production Oracle Database infrastructure
· Strong proficiency in Oracle database management
· Experience with replication configuration in Oracle Database
· Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in Oracle Database
· Proficient in writing and optimising SQL statements will be plus
· Database management in MySQL and MSSQL will be a plus
