VTEL is adding to our growing team with the addition of VOIP Engineers. Ideal candidates will have a passion for technology, excellent customer service skills, excel working in a team environment, and a desire to grow their existing skill set within the product offerings of VTEL.

The essential functions of the VOIP Engineer areOrder Management / Provisioning and as well as Service Assurance Services. The VOIP Engineer will be working in a NOCto provide tier 2 and tier 3 technical support for the Carrier Grade Geo Redundant UC platform deployed in Turkey's biggest mobile operator core network. Also, the ideal candidate should be working with tickets from creation to resolution, escalating to appropriate engineering teams as necessary, and communicating directly with clients to guarantee customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities:

· Order Management / Provisioning

· Troubleshooting of real-time VoIP platform, Telecom Network, IP / WAN Protocol stacks, and Linux based Application Server issues

· Provide day-to-day tier 2 level operational support including responding to escalated incidents

· Ongoing operational support of our Carrier Class Telecommunications infrastructure

· Design and configure enterprise VoIP networks

· Contribute to and maintain system standards, research and recommend innovative solutions, and where possible automate approaches for system administration tasks

· Manage, Operate, and support distributed Application Servers

· Analyze system performance and manage system resources

· Identifying operating system or software problems related to the software products that are interacting with our VoIP system, and work with external vendor support organizations to provide resolutions to the system issues or product defects


Basic Qualifications:

· A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in Telecom and Platform Switches,

· CCNP / CCNA certificates are plus

· Cloud PBX / UC experience is a plus

· Cisco Call Manager or equivalent experience is a plus

· Experience with telephony or voice related services (SIP, RTP)

· Experience with provisioning and configuration of VoIP phones

· Decent understanding of Networking in a TCP/IP and SIP environment is required

· Working knowledge of basic networking skills such as switching, routing, IP addressing, etc.

· Decent familiarity with a wide array of open source applications and tools, such as Apache, NGINX, MySQL, Node, Services, Tomcat, PHP, NTP, etc…

· Linux experience is a plus, preferably Ubuntu

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Telecommunications or equivalent experience is a plus
