Üsküdar American Academy, founded in 1876, is one of the leading private schools in Turkey. We offer the Turkish national curriculum, Advanced Placement (AP) courses, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The school is highly selective and prides itself on its world-class academic outcomes.

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, highly motivated, and inspirational International University Counsellor.


Required Qualifications & Experience:

· A minimum of three years of experience as an international university counselor.

· Advanced-level English language skills.

· Demonstrated ability to effectively develop, plan and manage all matters related to the international university preparation process in the US, UK, Canada, Europe, and anglophonic universities in other locations.

· Working knowledge of international schools' financial aid system.

· Demonstrated ability to use IT and university planning/management systems, ie. Cialfo.

· Experience in the administration of standardized tests (e.g. PSAT, AP).

· Prior experience working with the DP and/or AP programs.

· Willing and able to represent UAA at conferences and willing to participate in evening and weekend events.

Personal Skills:

· Flexible with a growth mindset and eager to learn and take on new responsibilities.

· Positive and outgoing with an engaging, collaborative personality, and the ability to model professionalism.

· Effective interpersonal and communication skills in establishing constructive relationships.

· A confident public speaker capable of delivering presentations to large stakeholder groups.
