QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

TSI Seats was established in 2011 with the partnership of Assan Hanil, Kibar Holding, Turkish Airlines, and Turkish Technic in order to design, manufacture, modify, and merchandise aircraft seats and its spare parts.

Assan Hanil, one of Kibar Group’s automotive companies was established in 1997 with the partnership of Seoyon E-Hwa which is the leading automotive supplier in South Korea, started production as an OEM Part Supplier in the automotive industry.

TSI Seats continues its operations for multiple aircraft types in the production facilities based in Sabiha Gökçen International Aiport, Istanbul, Turkey, and in Seattle, United States, with full design, engineering, manufacturing, and R&D capabilities.

We are looking for a "Composite Design Engineer" to join our R&D team in our company.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or in similar disciplines. A Master's degree in engineering is a plus.
  • Requires 2+ years of experience in high performance composite part design and/or analysis for Aviation, Defense, or Automotive industries.
  • Familiarity with FAA/EASA regulations, Boeing/Airbus specifications is a plus.
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling software (especially CATIA v5) including PLM knowledge.
  • Knowledge of the requirements and rules of design of composite parts and assembly
  • Practical knowledge of the technology and methods of producing composites
  • Knowledge of composite certification requirements
  • Ability to travel abroad.


JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Create 3D models of individual components and assemblies in CATIA v5. Create and or check 2D drawings of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies as required in CATIA v5.
  • Creating parts breakdown (Bill of Material – BOM) and technical documentation.
  • Apply best engineering principles in the design of seat composite components by ensuring specification, regulation, schedule, and budget requirements are met.
  • Research and verify the design criteria and needs per customer as well as based upon regulatory and integrator or OEM requirements.
  • Executing best practice engineering concepts, including composite material and process selections.
  • Selection, tests and implementation new composite materials: resins, fibres, glues
  • Development of plans and methodology of composite structure reparation
  • Establish ply book in relationship with FEM engineers
  • Research the new advanced materials and support the definition of the material characterization.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize components and assemblies, which strongly adhere to the cost, the time, and the quality at the desired level.
  • Support the development of the TSI Engineering Design Rules and Methods.
  • Understand carefully the market needs in strong collaboration with the marketing department and provide and support the new innovative ideas.
  • Benchmark studies and prepare documentation.
