QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Description:

The main scope of interest for the position is to plan, establish and execute the Configuration Management infrastructure in system development projects for military products, and to ensure that the determined targets are achieved.

In addition, Configuration Management Engineer is expected to communicate with relevant internal and external units and establish the necessary cooperation structure in organization for the integration of configuration management processes with PLM system.


Responsibilities:

• Determining the Configuration Management functions, and preparing, publishing the Configuration Management Plan.

• To carry out Configuration Management applications according to the principles determined within the scope of the Configuration Management Plan, and to update the plan when necessary.

• Planning, operating and monitoring the effectiveness of the structure that will provide the Configuration Management responsibilities optimally according to the needs of the projects.

• Preparing and publishing Configuration Status Reports in certain periods with the method determined in the Configuration Management Plan.

• Performing Change Management activities with the method determined in the Configuration Management Plan, controlling and processing of engineering change proposals.

• Organizing the Configuration Control Board meetings and following the current status of the BOM structure and the relevant revision documents.

• Performing and reporting the Physical and Functional Configuration Audits within the framework of the principles determined in the Configuration Management Plan in accordance with the Project schedule.

• Working with consultancy companies to develop change management tools and other tools used in the process within the framework of user and process needs, to determine the requirements and put them into practice.

• To keep the documentation of the work performed in accordance with quality standards up-to-date, to document and publish new processes.

• Maintaining and following up the Impact Analysis processes of engineering change proposals within the scope of the project.

• Keeping statistics on change management, reporting at specified period, and guiding the relevant teams in areas that are open to improvement.

• Organizing in-company and departmental trainings on the configuration management process and practices, identifying training needs and publishing information documents when necessary.

• Following the technological developments, innovations and trends relevant to configuration management process continuously and to apply them within the framework of basic principles.


Qualifications:

• Graduated from mechanical engineering, aerospace/aircraft engineering or related departments of the engineering faculties from reputational universities. (having an MS or PhD degree is a plus).

• Proficient in both spoken and written English.

• Preferably having 2+ years of configuration management experience in aviation, defense or automotive industries (having CMII is a plus).

• Having knowledge in SAE EIA-649C, MIL-HDBK-61B, MIL-STD-973, ISO10007 Configuration Management Standards.

• Experience in PLM processes, preferably in aviation, aviation gas turbine engines or power plant systems for ground vehicles.

• Proficiency or knowledge in at least one of the PLM tools (Teamcenter is preferable).

• Having knowledge in systems and design engineering approaches and methods is a plus.

• Knowledge on military and civil standards that is being used in the aviation industry (i.e. ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288).

• Proficient skills in Microsoft products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project).

• Interpersonal skills required to work with team members, customers and other stakeholders such as aircraft manufacturer and/or subcontractors.
