Summary
Datex is looking for a full-time MS SQL Database Administrator to help us create and maintain our next generation of supply-chain management solutions.
The ideal candidate will have strong SQL Server administration, performance analysis, and development skills. This individual must be comfortable working with multiple client databases with numerous tables in both highly normalized and de-normalized schemas. An ability to write SQL statements, queries, complex stored procedures, and triggers with exceptional skill is a must. He/she should also have extensive experience in MS SQL Server database design, architecture, modeling, programming/scripting, and be familiar with XML.
This position will be part of the Sotware Development Department. This individual must be able to handle a number of simultaneous projects, and must demonstrate a sense of urgency and ownership to drive tasks to completion.

Responsibilities:
- Strong SQL skills.
- Proactive monitoring of multiple production DBs (on-prem and cloud-based) and resolution of system-generated alerts.
- Proactive Server health check and maintenance of the Databases.
- Perform Code Analysis and Tuning including indexing, partitioning.
- Provide HADR solutions to clients.
- Integrity checks for data and disk/storage.
- Reporting and Data analysis, including extracting data from multiple sources and identifying and resolving inconsistencies.
- Database configuration, patching/upgrades and release management processes.
- Capacity planning of database systems.
- Improve and maintain existing documentation. Create documentation on How To, Best Practices Manual and Alarms Journal.
Experience and Qualification: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in Database Administration and Development.
- Experience in all HADR Technologies provided by Microsoft e.g. Backup/Restore, Log Shipping, DB mirroring, Replication, Always-On.
- Excellent knowledge writing T-SQL and building SSRS reports.
- Hands-on experience resolving performance issues of complex SQL queries and reports.
- Experience converting business requirements into advanced data models to meet complex business needs.
- Experience with on-premise and cloud-based (Azure) technologies.
- Experience in ETL process development using SSIS.
- Knowledge of Analysis Services - SSAS, MDX, DMX and DAX is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivated, and enjoys working on a wide range of clientele.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
