QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
Çayeli Bakır İşletmeleri A.Ş. (CBI) is owned by First Quantum Minerals Ltd. which is an established and rapidly growing mining and metals company .CBI is an underground mine and produces copper and zinc in Madenli, Çayeli in the Province of Rize. During the life of the operation, CBI has continuously looked for opportunities to enhance its reputation and performance through the application of leading international practice in all areas of its business. CBI is sensitive to the environment, respectful to the local people and one of the leading enterprises in terms of its technical infrastructure in the Turkish mining sector.
We are looking for our new ore for developing our powerful and dynamic labor force.
The role would include, but not limited to the following responsibilities:
- Ensuring that highest safety standards are applied according to company policy.
- Day-to-day loading, validation, maintenance and continual improvement of the FQM database (geological, geochemical, geophysical and assay results data) adhering to strict data quality standards.
- Producing internal statistical and operational reports.
- Liaison with responsible geologist to ensure QAQC results are analyzed and acted upon and not just reported and monitoring of lab assay results files and liaising with laboratories.
- Training and supporting exploration team to be able to upload and access information in the database and sharepoint independently.
- Administer licensing for GIS and other related applications.
The ideal candidate is required to have the following qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience of geological database management.
- Good knowledge of SQL and able to use SQL to create client required queries.
- Good knowledge of Maxwell Datashed or similar commercial DB front-end product.
- Understanding principles of geological sample flow and analytical Quality control/Quality assurance procedures.
- Ensure the exploration project complies with all corporately endorsed exploration systems and must work closely with the FQM Exploration global data team to ensure all necessary systems are in place and best practices are applied, including mentoring, guidelines and training for the field teams.
- Able to communicate in English and Turkish.
- Excited to work in Eastern Turkey (Hakkari) as FIFO roaster / resident option.
