Experience, Education and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in the areas of Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Automotive, Computer Science, or other related fields.
  • 5+ years of Automotive experience in Diagnostics
  • Strong knowledge of relevant standards: ISO 14229 (UDS), ISO 15765 (DoCAN), ISO 13400 (DoIP), ISO 22901-1 (ODX) ISO 13209-3 OTX
  • Diagnostic specification / authoring tool experience (CANdela Studio, ODX Studio or similar)
  • Hands-on experience in using test equipment and validation tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer
  • Knowledge and experience with major diagnostic parameter elements including Data Identifies (DIDs), Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and Routine Identifiers (RIDs)
  • Experience in automotive applications and applicable interfaces such as CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet
  • Experience in diagnostic sequences such as ECU reprogramming and how the tester exchanges data with client ECUs Soft Skills & Attitude
  • Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills both on test benches and in vehicles
  • Supplier management experience and a strong background in working with cross functional groups.
  • Knowledge of major automotive subsystems and electrical and electronic circuit operation.
  • Ability to coordinate and complete tasks per a release schedule
  • Ability to identify non-compliance to standards and resolve the issue

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the diagnostic effort, develop and maintain company diagnostics strategy
  • Own diagnostic gateway, timing, diagnostic software implementation, validation change and release process
  • Clarify requirements and diagnostic architectures, working closely with System &E&E Engineers, Cloud System, OTA, Service and Manufacturing and identify needs for EOL
  • Configure UDS services as needed for each sub-system
  • Create and release diagnostic specifications using authoring tools based on ODX and validating a vehicle diagnostic feature with CANoe / CANalyzer and CDD/ODX.
  • Develop, test, and release SW components that handle vehicle Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTCs), Diagnostic Command IDs (DIDs), and Process Command IDs (PIDs).
  • Writing the service routines on OTX using authoring tools
  • Test, debug, troubleshoot, maintain, and deploy applications
  • Support on-going development of test specifications
