Summary:
Electrical Engineer
Remote Job Available - Electrical Engineer with experience in PCB’s to assist in development and sustaining device engineering projects. Client Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required.
I. Job Duties:
Participates in engineering development projects. Leads small-scale design updates to an electronic control module and PCB design. Engineer is responsible for OEM requirements for electrical integration and validation including status updates, product content, bill of materials, and supplier/component selection for completing system integration, analog and digital knowledge, and firmware designs. This includes setting and revising requirements and specifications, debugging, testing electrical circuits and systems, and completing documentation to ensure feasibility and verifiability of performance.
II. Qualifications
Must-Have Skills:
· 5+ years of electrical systems design experience. Specifying, designing, and building electrical hardware for commercial devices
· Work experience in circuit design / embedded electro-mechanical device products. Ability to manage device design controls, develop and define requirements and testing.
· Experience developing devices in an ISO regulated environment is preferred. Knowledge of IEC/UL standards for device product design
· Technical expert responsible for design and development oversight of schematics and electrical drawings in compliance with IEC electrical engineering codes and safety standards.
· Research, develop, design, and evaluate mechanical and electro-mechanical device designs to satisfy requirements.
· Develops hardware and software solutions used to test PCBA level and system level functional tests including but not limited to LabView PCBA testing.
· Provides direct work to internal and external resources to assure electrical and software- based design solutions are developed, implemented, tested and documented in accordance with applicable standards and in compliance with international regulatory requirements and consensus standards.
· Researches engineering principles that can improve the performance of existing BT products and/or build the company's IP portfolio.
· Maintains awareness of industry trends and technologies.
· Prepares project proposals, project plans, and reports for assigned new product, sustaining and grant sponsored projects
· Assures compliance with BT Quality System including the Product Development Procedure and other related procedures including Design Control and Risk Management.
· Applies technical skills and experience in designing finished products, sub-systems, and components of devices of moderate to high complexity. Assures effective design transfer into manufacturing.
· Authors and/or approves key documents comprising the design history file. Assists in developing plans and documentation for regulatory submissions.
Additional Skills
* Fluency in PCB’s, electronic device development, testing and control systems
* Proficient in one or more programming languages (such as C/C++, Python, etc.)
* Possess a high degree of hands-on aptitude and problem-solving skills
* Excellent analytical, communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
* Excellent computer skills
III. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Design and produce prototype PCB assemblies to exacting quality standards
* Perform/oversee testing and validation of products to confirm product function, failure mode and life expectancy.
* Project Management
* Documentation and organization of design related data / technical drawing packages in accordance with design and revision controls per ISO 9001 and internal standard practice
* Travel up to 10% for customer design meetings, trade shows, conferences, support.
IV. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
* Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering with a focus on PCB’s and device design.
