In the position of Factory Operation Director, you will lead the factory operation as Performance Centers of the APMEA Hub with the accountability of running the day-to-day operation to achieve excellence in customer expectations and contribute to APEMA HUB business results through operational execution on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Cost for Power Transformer factory in Turkey, Kartal. Your background

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering with strong technical background and experience as a general manager or operation manager.
  • More than 8-10 years of experience (experience in the Transformer Industry is preferred).
  • Experience in Lean Principles of manufacturing and Lean 6 Sigma certification is preferred.
  • Strong personal leadership with interpersonal skills and a networking approach.
  • Excellent analytical and systemic problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • A collaborative, solution-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
  • Advanced level of written and spoken English and Turkish.
  • Completed military service for male applicants.

Your responsibilities

  • Being responsible for implementing and sponsoring Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and all other business compliance standards and regulations across factory organizations. You will be accountable to ensure a safe work environment and continuous improvement in HSE processes and integrity performance across factory organizations minimizing the environmental impact.
  • Delivering operational KPIs in line with APMEA HUB /BL Target /expectations. KPI for example on safety, quality, delivery, inventory, productivity, contribution, net working capital, cash, volume growth, and similar. You will have close collaboration with GPG, HBU Management Team, LSM, Hub function, and the other business-related stakeholders for the successful delivery of KPI. As a local leader, you will represent the other business functions in the factory location and align with priority and importance to achieve the business goal for your factory. You will implement decisions taken and secure the stable and sustainable short&long-term goal and growth of the factory.
  • Ensuring a high standard of product quality and achieving and maintaining a leading presence in the market.
  • Defending intellectual property, driving productivity, performance, and cost optimization. Fostering a performance-oriented and customer-focused culture in the unit.
  • Being accountable to ensure compliance with global and local standards, rules, policies, and procedures related to the factory. You will implement the new global standards, method provision, and Quality and process control documentation as well as new product & manufacturing platform deployment while delivering products and services to our customers. You will provide input to Global Product Group for developing products if needed, as well as a technology solution to develop market strategy and overcome white spots.
  • Ensuring sustainable and effective end-to-end process from customer order acknowledgment to completing the delivery of projects, products, and service by effective planning and execution of the customer contracts awarded to your factory. Ensuring the execution of projects according to agreed targets in terms of schedule, quality, financial results, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensuring that customer contract execution is in alignment with Hitachi Energy policies with proper risk management, validation to improve reliability and effectiveness of factory performance. Along with the Business HR function, you will ensure factory functions are properly organized, staffed, guided, motivated, and directed.
  • Being accountable for building an effective, capable, and high-performing factory team as a performance center team. You will be responsible to develop talent, reviewing organizational effectiveness, performance and competence assessments, and continuous upgrade skills across the factory organization respecting the BL /Country HR Policies.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
