QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
As Plant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a staff up to 400 on site. Reporting into COO, you will be responsible for driving team performance, managing day to day activities within packaging and processing. You will be looking to drive the company forward with your knowledge of continuous improvement processes, display excellent people management skills and inspire your team to take the next step. Working with relevant peers with effective planning to improve productivity. you will be responsible for allocation of factory labor, liaise cross-functionally with internal stakeholders in areas of sales, quality and maintenance to ensure optimum site performance against set KPIs.
Qualifications
· Engineering background, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Food Engineering and Chemical Engineering departments of universities.
· A minimum of 5 years of experience in the food manufacturing industryas Production Managers, Plant Manager or operation Manager,
· Demonstrable experience in continuous improvement with a focus on efficiency improvement, process streamlining and cost reduction
· Thorough knowledge of food safety processes and regulatory compliance, OH&S and QA processes
· Proven ability to manage large teams in a manufacturing environment
· Genuine passion about the food industry, particularly produce
· Proven ability to liaise cross-functionally
· Excellent people management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in fermentation or similar process is preferred.
Key Accountabilities
· Execute routine operations of assigned area, ensuring direct reports are following policies and procedures related to employee, food safety and occupational safety and environmental compliance.
· Monitor production outcomes, quantity, and quality to ensure customer and food safety requirements are within specifications.
· Responsible for delivery results for all production lines and all shifts at the facility.
· Develop operational plans and monitors routine operations for all production processes for multiple departments, processes and shifts.
· Provide direct reports with leadership, direction, and coaching to achieve work objectives and improve performance and skills.
· Develops and inspires others by building and maintaining relationships that motivate, guide, and / or reinforce the performance of others toward goal accomplishments.
· Develop analytical tools and reports in order to manage production performance.
· Analyze performance data in order to report operating results of the production area to Production Director.
· Requires capacity and staff planning ability with variable and fixed expense planning expertise.
· Develops productivity tracking metrics to determine performance year to year and determines productivity improvements as needed.
· Develops, sponsors and implements productivity improvements and oversee the production quality performance and conformance.
· Improves strategies for production process such as cost reduction, space utilization, safety and cleanliness.
· Oversees inventory control procedures and ensures accuracy goals are achieved, with operating policy and procedural documentation maintained and up to date.
· Monitor the technological developments in the sector and to examine the applied production techniques and tools
· Managing and monitoring preventive maintenance of equipment in facility.
· Ensuring the implementation of in-company training programs to the production department
