Field Service Mechanical and Automation Engineer

We are now looking for a hands-on FS Mechanical and Automation Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. The successful candidatewill be located in Istanbul, Turkey.

What will you be doing?
Your work will focus on these responsibilities:
• Pre-commissioning and commissioning of Wärtsilä sold equipment of latest automation technologies and mechanical competence for all installations, especially marine installations
• Troubleshooting by identifying failures, adjusting, attending (sea) trial runs and testing of installations according to instructions and expected performance requirements
• Perform installation audits at various land and sea-based installations
• Perform overhauls and repairs on assemblies on site and/or in workshops
• Perform Field Service activities according to the work plan
• Prepare Service work reports and travel expenses on time and with expected Wärtsilä quality
• Participate with improvement of new products when performing warranty activities
• Promote Wärtsilä products and services
• Ensure customer satisfaction with job performance & through positive interactions with customers
• Ensure that the work is executed according to Wartsila quality, health and environmental guidelines and customer site procedures.
The below will enable you to shine in this role:
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical & Automation Engineering
• Team player with a positive mind-set and ability to adapt / work independently in a challenging environment
• Desire to learn new things
• Technical problem-solving skills
• Ability to produce internal and external work reports according to Wärtsilä standards
• Fluency in English, both oral and written
• Willingness to travel globally
You will be at an advantage with:
• 4S Engine knowledge and experience
• PLC’s, SWOIS, WECS, UNIC, systems
• Diesel, Dual Fuel, Gas engine installation and troubleshooting
• LNGPac and engine plant automation installation and troubleshooting
• Wärtsilä IAS experience of installation and troubleshooting
• Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), optional
