The Role:
The role will play a lead role in facilitating Health and Safety (H&S) program implementation, risk assessment, incident analysis, training and program management. The engineer will perform work both individually and in cross-functional teams to empower all personnel to drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
• Lead implementation and sustainment of H&S programs, systems, and standards
• Provide a day-to-day H&S service that is effective and suitable to support objectives
• Facilitate employee H&S engagement and empowerment
• Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and/or guidelines
• Collaborate with operational teams to complete job hazard analysis, PPE hazard assessments, and implement appropriate policies and procedures to mitigate risks
• Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards
• Track H&S training needs, compliance, and effectiveness
• Carry out other related duties as advised by the supervisor
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering
• Experience of having worked in a similar role
• Relevant certifications
• Advanced competency in controlling critical hazards including Working at Heights, Electrical Safety, Control of Hazardous Energy, Confined Spaces, Mobile Equipment, and Crane-Hoisting / Lifting and all regulatory compliance obligations
• Strong knowledge and experience in interpreting, applying and documenting safety and health regulations and industry best practices
• Ability to influence and communicate effectively with all levels of an organisation
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
• Upper-intermediate level of English language skills
• No obstacle for traveling or relocation
