Quality & Technical Team Manager - Turkey

The Role

The Role Quality & Technical Team Manager is key stakeholder for the business to ensure that SD standards and quality level is maintained at minimum, improved with sustainable and digital approaches, and moved to the next level.

Ensure that SD quality standards are followed by the supply chain and quality teams, train and develop teams to achieve the goal.

Role Specific ;

Product Management

  • Manage technical team (garment technologists and quality assurance members and fabric technologist) for preproduction and shipment sample approvals in bulk productions based on agreed WOW and technical requirements.
  • Involve to fit approvals at development stage if requested by UK technical product developers, can assign right person for the need in the ground.
  • Manage work flow of quality and technical teams by balancing workload between team members
  • Set up and manage risk assessment meetings with Quality and technical teams and Merchandising.
  • Support fabric technologist to manage fabric approval stages in accordance with SD requirement and standards.
  • Coordinate seamless communication between UK and TK office technical teams, make sure that.
  • Escalation process works well to inform business with urgencies and risky areas and discuss solutions for accurate action plans
  • Work with other departments for smooth communication and information transformation between teams (such as setting up regular catch up meetings with related parties)

Training & Mentoring teams

  • Coordinate technical and quality teams for seamless communication and effective work environment
  • Be agile to keep teams focused to be in line with company strategies and achieve department targets
  • Train your own team members to increase their awareness and technical knowledge in fit, make up and construction details of a garment.
  • Keep yourself and your teams updated with digital solutions in quality and technical- suggest possible applications to superiors and business with benefits as a result support SD developments as a brand

Supplier Management to increase Supplier Performances

  • Work with suppliers to increase efficiency in production stage by implementing automation and effective solutions which are in line with company strategies.
  • Manage Quality Assurance Team for implementation the brand’s quality standards in supply base and bring processes in line with company strategies for sustainable results and follow up.
  • Work towards reducing fit rejections in suppliers which requires working with suppliers to analyse rejection reasons and discuss possible solution with suppliers and SD Technical team (both UK & TK Technical teams) , suggest solutions if needed ( such as fit/ block amendment and advice on grading etc for UK team to give the final decision)
  • Work with third party sources to develop& train suppliers in technical subjects such as needle, thread, garment components, new innovative approaches by machine builders etc
  • Work closely with the supply base to mitigate risks, help technical and quality teams to take preventive actions in timely manner and solve issues. Which involves analysing each production stage including fabric, cutting, sewing, packing etc. and challenge suppliers for possible improvements.
  • Travel to factories at optimum times to support business needs, promote departmental strategy and enable the delivery of best-in-class quality and improved speed to market
  • Manage supplier performance reviews on regular bases by presenting supplier KPI.s and agree on action plans for each supplier, make sure that TK office teams actualize agreed action plans.

Management of AQL Failures & Consolidation Center

  • Manage TK Technical team to communicate AQL failures with suppliers once the the rejection decision is made by UK quality assurance team
  • Involve to the failures if necessary to input your knowledge and experience to take the right decision as a team
  • Visit consolidation center if necessary to review rejected garments, or review AQL methods and give feedback to UK quality assurance team for calibration of AQL team in the consolidation center.
  • Lead and direct teams to finalize pending issues by communicating with UK quality assurance teams ( for instance sending samples to UK for review and final decision, give advisory opinion on technical capabilities to take the final decision)
  • Work toward reducing AQL failures by training suppliers for compliance to SD standards and improve their technical capabilities.
  • Support UK quality assurance team by distributing AQL related debits to suppliers and manage objections by consulting with UK team.

  • Deliver regular performance reviews of team members, conduct regular KAOF/121 reviews and make sure that teams work in a harmony based on the department strategy.

  • Knowledgeable in various product categories including knitwear, jersey& woven, socks, denim, swimwear
  • Knowledgeable in production and fabric, print, embroidery & washing& finishing stages with working experience
  • Experienced in pattern making & fit processes to give technical advice and bring solutions, Good technical knowledge of garment construction is key
